Dramatic Wonk Walk! Paul Ryan Previews His Upcoming Budget Plan
These days even budget proposals have teaser trailers. Here's Paul Ryan's:
So will it be a blockbuster? Hard to say. There's not a lot of information about what's actually in his budget (I suspect it will include a variation on the Medicare reform he recently proposed with Sen. Ron Wyden), but the trailer suggest the tone he wants to strike in discussing it.

I love you adbot!!!
Budgets having their own trailers really is interesting.
We live in an age of wonder.
It reminded me of the Eastwood Halftime in America commercial.
I hope the Democrats produce a response. ...and take it one step further by using Carl Orff's "O Fortuna" as the score.

His video would be way more effective with Blitzkrieg's original Blitzkrieg as the background music.
Using the original Blitzkrieg behind anything makes it better.
Maybe the Senate hasn't submitted a budget for three years because Reid and Baucus can't agree on the soundtrack?
Alternate headline: "Rep. Ryan declares his candidacy in the 2016 presidential race."
Wasn't Ryan going after a senate seat this year?
Apparently not. He's going to stay in the House.
Shit I was thinking of Flake.
For confusing libertarian Flake with TARP yes voting Ryan I must whip myself with a cat of 9 tails made of monocles.
Will it grow the deficit while destroying Medicare?
What's the point of slashing the budget if it doesn't grow the deficit while destroying Medicare, Tony?
Of course it grows the deficit while destroying Medicare. It also destroys the middle class, the rights of workers, and most important of all, slashing the budget attacks the right of women to make choices about their own bodies!
Don't you know anything about being a fiscal conservative?
P.S. Did I miss anything on your wish list? Should there have been something in there about the Koch Brothers?
I'm just wondering if it resembles his previous budget in those ways.
The problem is you can't slash the deficit while adhering to a 100% anti-tax zealotry.
No, the problem is you can't slash the budget without making some ridiculous people run around in circles screaming that it will destroy the middle class.
We need to destroy the upper class, thus making the middle class the new upper class... then, we can destroy them, too.
We need to do something about spoofers.
What spoofers?
I *migbt* be the real thing!
You forgot kittens....and pizza.
The budget kills kittens and outlaws pizza.
The bugdet kills pizza and outlaws kittens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rand Paul yesterday "unveiled" the solution to our deficit! Today, Paul Ryan solves the budget impasse!...
Are these things actually competing ideas? And are they anything more than advertisements for the 'big thinkers' in congress, who want to be thought of as "mavericks" but who in fact have no real sway over their parties?
I mean, will any of this shit ever be considered seriously?
It's the "John Carter" of budget proposals.
A 17% flat tax. Well, that's one way to fix the "carried interest" loophole. I'm sure the Kardashians will do some serious "job creation" with the extra money.
I love how this guy punches holes in the bottom of the bucket even as he asks us to pour in more water.
will any of this shit ever be considered seriously?
Yep!
Ryan's plan(s) will be considered by all Serious People to set the outermost definitional boundaries of right-wing fiscal extremity, compared to which any actual cuts/shrinkage/other-libertarianism-related-things are so totally fucking crazy they're not even part of the conversation?and by the GOP, Ryan's plan(s) will be considered the outmost boundary of right-wing acceptability, compared to which [see above].
A subtle distinction.
Paul's plan(s) will be considered, by both TEAMs alike, exemplary of the irresponsible chaos and/or murderous madness the Kochtobaggers would unleash if they had any power, because [see above].
And the budget will go on being like it is, only more so, because everyone who actually gets to decide how it is wants it to be like it is, only more so.
