Mitt Romney Wins the CPAC Presidential Straw Poll, Absent Ron Paul Gets Fourth
According to The Washington Times:
Mr. Romney won 38 percent of the straw poll, which counted the votes of 3,408 activists gathered for the Conservative Political Action Conference, which ran from Thursday through Saturday at a hotel in Washington.
Mr. Santorum was second with 31 percent, Newt Gingrich was third with 15 percent and Rep. Ron Paul was fourth with 12 percent — far below his showing the last two years, when he won with 31 in 2010 and 30 percent in 2011.
In the national survey, meanwhile, Mr. Romney barely topped Mr. Santorum 27 percent to 25 percent, with Mr. Gingrich in third place at 20 percent and Mr. Paul again trailing at 8 percent.

Lucy, thanks for taking one for the team. Are your rations holding out? Idiot deflector shields still holding?

I like the "tags" in the middle - lulz
The tags? Yeah, of course -- men must work together to make this world a better place (concerning babes on the Internet)!
He has a big gay fanbase but says he isn't
-gaydar went off 🙁
Good video.
You know, for a convention called "conservative"....
^^THIS^^
It means zilch; Romney won before too
Shit, it's a Steigerwald article. Sorry that the above is definitively male-oriented material. I'll come up with some mix-ups for the future.
No, no, no....male-oriented is fine. No need to go MiXING THINGS UP and CONFUSING things unnecessarily....nope, I don't hear Lucy asking for anything except recognition for her impeccable literary and reporting skills....lalalalalala...don't hear anyone asking for anything but "moar of the same, please!"
...far below his showing the last two years, when he won with 31 in 2010 and 30 percent in 2011.
This is an election year. This year it counts. No serious soul at CPAC is going to waste a straw on the doctor.
And what, no link for the Times article?

Damn it, Lucy!
The Kochs were on Reason's ass to hog all the page views for themselves.
"Pop Up Blocked"
THAT'S WHAT SHEEEEEEEE SAID!
Ron Paul is not a "conservative" just in case anyone has missed that point. CPAC would have been a waste of time and money for him.
Say what?
paul is the closest to an authentic conservative prior to the gop alliance w the evangelicals about which goldwater warned.
Yes, with Goldwater's historic victory we should heed his warning,
Someone else's sock puppet won the power sock puppet popularity contest? What a shame. This means I'll have to start doing things for myself, and stop praying to a sock puppet for my freedom.
Doing things for yourself, eh?
Leslie, would you tell Janet Napolitano to come to my office, please? I think I've spotted a right-wing terrorist here.
I LIEK ROMNY. HES ELECTEBLE.
I'm proud to say a sizable majority of Republicans in my 'hood dislike Romney, and almost all are voting for Paul -- of course, that's just one neighborhood, but it gives me hope (unless you consider that Democrats and independents also live in this neighborhood, but fuck that!)
I'm proud to say a sizable majority of Republicans in my 'hood dislike Romney
Why does that make you "proud"?
It's almost as if you're a collectivist.
How and why do the opinions of your "hood" reflect upon your own worth as an individual, and make you feel proud?
In a hypotherical Paul/Obama matchup, which would YOU choose, Rhet?
Not the point, but thanks for playing.
Just odd that you would call him a collectivist.
Conducting a poll of myself:
Ron Paul > Constitution Party candidate > Santorum > mangy dog > Romney > Bernie Sanders > Obama
Isn't the only difference between the Libertarian Party and the Constitution Party the latter's immigration policies and explicit endorsement of Christ in their political messages? I've got a friend who supported them a while ago.
constitution party is prolife - LP frontrunner (Johnson) is "prochoice." If the LP nominates a prolifer (like in 1988) I'll take another look.
CP is heavy with hard-core evangelicals. Bless their hearts. I don't have to hang out with them to vote for them.
Abortion as the litmus test in an age of 110% Debt-to-GDP ratio?
I swear that pro-lifers never get tired of being ridiculous.
or hopelessly self-conflicted completely ignoring fertility clinics which yearly destroy embyros by the tens-of-thousands as personal property, which is settled law. and ignoring families intentionally withholding critical geriatric care to allow death w dignity.
You realize we're talking about a protest vote, right?
Lesser of two evils thinking only applies when you're voting for someone who has a shot at winning.
I don't know what "protest vote" means. My vote communicates who I want to be President.
RBM,
Are you aware of Paul's and the CP's views on the debt and federal spending (anti)?
You may as well ask why Johnson is prochoice in an era of etc.
I dunno. What's the Constitution Party's stance on the Drug War? I'm guessing they're hardcore Drug Warriors.
No - return it to the states, like Paul.
MANGY DOG 2012
Mange you can believe in.
Nice.
Just so I don't have to clean up after him.
Ron Paul > Constitution Party candidate > Santorum = mangy dog > Romney > Bernie Sanders > Obama
You left out an = sign.
lol, they are all corrupt as the day is long lol.

Actress Gabrielle Union's weave was flagged by the TSA.
Was it on her head?
Can teeth be too white? Seriously local news anchor.
Wow, I understand why your anon, your comments as so politically sensitive
and why you're anon too 😉
The funny thing about that is that I recently was watching a Friends rerun on TV (it was two in the morning and nothing was on) and it was the one where Ross leaves the whitening gel on his teeth too long before a date and his teeth are turned comically and ridiculously white.
Only now his teeth didn't really look that white. So the joke didn't work.
That means that teeth whitening (and over-whitening) has become so ubiquitous in the intervening decade that a shade of white that was done as a joke back then now just looks like plain old regular TV.
So CPAC picked...wait for it...Moderate Mitt as the Conservative Messiah?
Holy shit, we can at least say they helped everyone not take them seriously for a long while.
Nah, we were just helping him caucus in Hamburg.
Paul came fourth? Fuck! Somebody must have given his Nazi backers the wrong date.
The voters decide nothing, Diebold decides everything.
I'm voting for Hypnotoad!
Romney still only got a plurality. It would probably have went down different if he were facing only one of the three other candidate and not all of them.
