OT: This is something that's been on my mind since some members of the feminist contingent of the skeptic movement decided to bust Penn Jillette's balls for calling a woman "cunt"?

Just interest, but has anybody ever heard the word "cunt" said with the amount and kind of hate as say "nigger"? It's been my experience that the word is merely a female version of "dick" or "prick", which carry less of the shock value of "cunt".

I'm just utterly confused by these concerns. For some reason, I do hate the use of the word "nigger", but for some reason I can't quite elevate "cunt" to that level without giving equal diligence to "dick" or "prick." I just get confused at what society expects of me...

But then again, I'm a (relatively) wealthy, privileged, America, white male.

Besides, I always thought "cunt" was regional. I hear it all the time from Brits, never from Californians, often enough on the East Coast. For both genders. It may be gendered language, but body parts as synecdoches have very fluid usage. (The best being that saying "he's a dick" is bad but saying "she has balls" is good.)
