Because without those children being educated and able to support themselves they'd probably be addicted to drugs breaking down your door in the middle of the night trying to take whatever they can get from your house to pawn off somewhere.

I used to handle child support cases. I did not do statistics on them, but it seemed they were at least just as likely.

It makes sense. But it doesn't mean what people might think it does. The system is skewed against men. That means a woman has to be a real deadbeat usually to lose her kids. Whereas a man can be a really good parent and still not get the kids. The rule usually is, the mom gets them as long as there is nothing wrong with her no matter how good the dad is.

So that means the pool of noncustodial mothers is generally populated by the real deadbeats. And the pool of noncustodial fathers is more representative of fathers as a whole.

You probably would not believe the amount of information a child support worker has at their fingertips. I could just type away on my computer to find out how much a person makes, where they work, what their phone number is, and where they live all based on required information from utility services and employers. Scary, really, but I had to use it to do my job.

I actually do think this is stupid, because Planned Parenthood provides a ton of healthcare to women who would otherwise be underserved and seems like just the kind of provider you would want to support if you wanted to help poor women get breast cancer screening. For many of these women Planned Parenthood is a primary care provider (and that has nothing to do with their abortion services, aside from, yes, the fungibility of money).
