Helping Newt Gingrich Imagine Something More Despicable
Last night during the CNN Republican presidential candidate debate, former Speaker of the House and current narcissist-in-chief Newt Gingrich dared to blurt out:
"To take an ex-wife and make it two days before the primary a significant question in a presidential campaign is as close to despicable as anything I can imagine," Gingrich told King, the moderator of the debate."
He's kidding, right? Surely some people will find it "despicable" for Newt to have cheated on his wife for six years. And some might think it "despicable" for a man to be lecturing others on immorality while he is at the same exact moment cheating on his wife. And how about arguing with your first wife over the details of the divorce you're seeking while she is in the hospital recovering from surgery? Maybe that's just a teeny bit "despicable."
And what about having the sheer gall to claim on the Christian Broadcasting Network - of all places - that your serial infidelities occurred because of how "passionately" you felt about this country and "how hard you worked." That may not be "despicable," but surely it is one of the more pathetically self-aggrandizing excuses for bad behavior heard in public recently. And then, in that same interview, Newt implied that God had forgiven him for his "inappropriate" behavior.
And perhaps the Creator has seen fit to forgive Newt. And that's fine, but that would simply mean that Divine Providence has lower standards than I do.

Liberal media strikes again!
This post is anonymous, as it was written on a note tied to a brick and thrown through Matt Welch's window.
No way it's Welch--the alt-text isn't awesome enough.
P, A Secret, and A: Server squirrels on the byline and sorry about the alt text.
This would make a good game for H&R posts. Post without a byline for 10 minutes and see who the commentariate thinks it is before revealing the real author. No offense, but I would have gone with a contributor with ovaries on this one.
BH: It's not the infidelity that bothers me so much as the sheer narcissism.
Ron, I thought it was Sullum at first. You need to make more 12 oz mouse references or something.
Hah. Me too. But I do find it kindof entertaining, like that yearly lunch with a drugged out uncle who has lots of Facebook fans.
Newt's comment did remind me of this from James Taranto:
http://online.wsj.com/article/.....13420.html
An Edinburgh man said, "It was about 3:00am. An alarm sounded, and we were told we were about to land in the sea. I thought we were going to die. My wife was crying, and passengers were screaming. Then they played an announcement telling us to just ignore the warnings."
As Thomas Friedman might say, that's a really, really, really horrible story. It's hard to imagine anything worse that could happen on a flight.
It actually crashing would be worse and isn't that hard to imagine.
And perhaps the Creator has seen fit to forgive Newt. And that's fine, but that would simply mean that Divine Providence has lower standards than I do.
Forgiveness is a big part of the Lord's job description. If he doesn't forgive politicians, he'd soon be out of work.
But fear not, for vengeance is also His.
You don't expect Newt Kuan Yew to abide by the same rules as the little peoples, do you, Shirley?
Actually, no -- I expect a considerably higher standard.
When it comes to Newt, nothing would satisfy me more than to see him impaled on a sharp stake in the public square, pelted with rotten fruit and eggs until he expires.
no hugs for thugs,
Shirley Knott
I like a firm woman, Shirley!
What a woman!
Wow!!! What about John Edwards then?
John Edwards should join Gingrich for a "patriot party" After all, if Newt says that "patriotism" forces you to bang a woman who isn't your wife, I guess they both had a good dose of this so-called patriotism?
But alas, I wish Gingrich a fitting end to his campaign, soon enough.
It's good that's Newt's own assholeness will sink his campaign all by itself. It's fitting, really.
If he could somehow wrap his corpulent arms around Romney on the way down...
The bear hug of death!
Please tell me there is a tar pit in your fantasy!
Or sharks.
"Was that a tar dolphin...or a tar shark?!?"
It's Sylvester Stallone!
Is it just me or is Newt the poster boy for most, if not all, politicians?
No, it is not just you. They are all like him. He is just a little more upfront about it.
Upfront! I see what you did there. O_o
A lot of people might vote for Gingrich out of rancor. He's like the American Berlusconi except uglier and less wealthy.
Ah, I see you made the same observation below.
Newt is like our version of Vladimir Putin. I say we call him Newtin, That aside, he really did have the most brilliant answer about SOPA, debasing the debate to just raw political math. To paraphrase... Why would conservatives give a crap about the Hollywood Left's IP problems? It was such a cynical answer, I have to give him huge props for daring to frame it that way, as if there is no argument here over right and wrong, nor people's rights to balance.
I would be scared as hell if this guy gets any traction in this primary process, but damn, I hope he sticks around just to show people how brass balls are polished.
Silvio Berlusconi with really ugly women.
This is Vlad's personal photographer: http://www.forbes.com/sites/ju.....tographer/
And this is the rhytmic gymnast he was linked to: http://www.freerepublic.com/fo.....3108/posts
Silvio has good taste but Vlad has taste and hasn't been ridiculed over it.
Then Gingrich doesn't measure up to either of them. Frankly makes me a bit embarrassed to be an American.
Gary Hart had the last good-looking mistress! Gary effing Hart!
Republican women have Bush in their heart.
I'll heart your bush.
This is an issue that I feel needs some exploration. Every single politican's mistress that has been exposed for a long time has been terrible. Edwards', Gingrich's, whoever. Spitzer's prostitute was pretty good, but that's absolutely not a mistress.
So what gives? Is it because politics is Hollywood for ugly people? Is it because they feel they have to so people won't get suspicious? Are they tasteless buffoons like Warty? I need answers, damn it!
Clinton allegedly nailed a former Miss USA, Elizabeth Ward Gracen. And she was very hot. But that is about it.
I think at heart these guys are bullies and control freaks. A really hot women has a lot of power because of her looks. They don't like that. They would rather have a homely woman who is really happy to get the attention and will do their bidding.
Interesting theory, John. I like the psychological angle to it.
That's not alleged. She admitted it.
Some of these politicians have married decent-looking women. Spitzer's wife is okay, for instance, though getting older. And, of course, Jack Ryan did pretty well with Jeri Ryan.
Herman Cain's mistress? She'd give erectile dysfunction to STEVE SMITH.
"Is it because politics is Hollywood for ugly people?"
Yes.
Crazy thought, here. But they might actually like their mistresses as people. I said crazy.
The only person that Newt likes as a person, looks at him in the mirror every morning.
There's no accounting for taste. Like why does anyone think Sarah Jessica Parker is attractive and sexy?
Like why does anyone think Sarah Jessica Parker is attractive and sexy?
People who have a centaur fetish, but want the horse and human parts reversed?
The truth is that the lighting required for two-dimensional photography and cinematography favors exaggerated -- almost cartoonish -- features. Notice how many TV hosts have ungodly large heads? Ever look at the enormous sized mouths on the most successful TV actresses? When 3D becomes industry standard we might actually get stars who look attractive both in person and on screen. Right now, 2D makes the normally grotesque look good on screen.
Why the long face?
No straight males think Sarah Jessica Parker is attractive or sexy, so I don't know what you're talking about, dude.
I used to wonder about that. I mean, I guess she was vaguely cute in an unorthodox sense from certain angles decades ago. Maybe. I can't remember really thinking that. Maybe I just don't want to be mean to her because I like her husband's work.
She was cute in LA Story, many many years ago.
That's the one time I thought she wasn't entirely unattractive from some angles and lighting. Now I remember.
It helps if you remove your monocle.
Maybe I got butter on it when watching that film.
She was cute in LA Story, many many years ago.
This. And she does have a very nice bod.
Get the fuck out of here, Zeb.
No, I mean it - get the fuck out, now.
Does that mean I can go home now?
OUT!
(points to door)
I'm sure it's happened. During the history of the world. At least once.
Fine, I'm going to go out on a limb here and hand y'all the saw - but in that Hawaiian movie with Nicholas Cage and the parachuting Elvises, she looks pretty good. Nice body at least.
That was a stupid movie.
Christ man, now I'm supposed to name something that was a good movie and that she looked good in? You're just being unfair now.
Well, Ska is now dead to us. And it's all your fault, Jim.
I knew that throwing in Nic Cage was just bonus rage fodder.
OH NO THE BEES NOT THE BEES THEY'RE IN MY EYES
Good, I hated that fucker anyway.
And Sarah Jessica Parker gave me a boner in that Disney witch movie she was in. I think the cadaverous makeup helped hide the angles of her face, and the outfit showed a lot of boob.
But yeah other than that, no thanks.
*chews, spits* Looks like I'll be seeing you in hell, Jim.
They bang ugly chicks for the same reason Arnold did. They want to be worshipped.
"I'm sorry Maria!"
By the way, I heard Newt's ugly broad is a big Robert Jordan fan. WILL THEY EVER FIND THE BOWL???
Just want to chime in as a straight male who has found SJP attractive. I admittedly have a bit of a weird nose affinity going, though.
It's already been established that you're not straight, and it's pretty debatable if you're male. Fag.
*hangs head*
Although people who turn into emotional slobbermonsters over kittens shouldn't throw stones, so to speak.
KITTENS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!
You monster. Now Warty is going to have to raid a cat shelter for therapeutic resaons.
Okay, that's just weird.
Trust me, I know. But hey, don't we hotlink the Israeli Army Women's Calendar from time to time? So I'm not the only one.
Rev. - I have a similar like of those noses and let me tell you, she's a horse.
The Israeli army calendars are nothing like that.
I saw "Striking Distance" the other day in the laundromat and she was OK.
What's "Bunga Bunga" in Russian?
I think it's "ruk ruk nyuk nyuk"
The chief of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Arizona is refusing to testify before Congress regarding Operation Fast and Furious, the federal gun-running scandal that sent U.S. weapons to Mexico.
Patrick J. Cunningham informed the House Oversight Committee late Thursday through his attorney that he will use the Fifth Amendment protection.
Cunningham was ordered Wednesday to appear before Chairman Darrell Issa and the House Oversight Committee regarding his role in the operation that sent more than 2,000 guns to the Sinaloa Cartel. Guns from the failed operation were found at the murder scene of Border Agent Brian Terry.
The letter from Cunningham's Washington DC attorney stunned congressional staff. Last week, Cunningham, the second highest ranking U.S. Attorney in Arizona, was scheduled to appear before Issa's committee voluntarily. Then, he declined and Issa issued a subpoena.
Cunningham is represented by Tobin Romero of Williams and Connolly who is a specialist in white collar crime. In the letter, he suggests witnesses from the Department of Justice in Washington, who have spoken in support of Attorney General Eric Holder, are wrong or lying.
http://hotair.com/archives/201.....ous-probe/
Speaking of despicable. But MNG assures us it was just a good faith law enforcement effort gone wrong.
Being accessories to mass-murder events and treasonous fucks? Just a minor bump, John, don'tcha know!
High ranking justice department officials taking the 5th before Congress. That is not Nixonian. That is Nixon.
I am not a crook! Holder, Holder's the crook!
Wow!
I wonder if this will drag holder into the shit hole where he belongs?
He's in direct competition with Santorum for Biggest Asshole category. Santorum still winning in values, Newt winning in shear physical size.
The biggest asshole is the candidate that poops all over the country the most. Most of the time, that's the incumbent.
This reminds me of Reason's features on Akrasia from last summer. Willpower is a limited resource, so indulgence in one area increases fortitude in others. For some people it's donuts. For others, it's a mistress. Really, if you think about it, Gingrich's philandering was just a symptom of his deep and abiding patriotism.
/puke
How DARE you say something bad about before an election! LAMESTREAM LIBERAL MEDIA CONSPIRACY!
And perhaps the Creator has seen fit to forgive Newt. And that's fine, but that would simply mean that Divine Providence has lower standards than I do.
Ronnie, "l"ibertarians should not be meglomaniacal. It's just bad form. As for Newt, he's a scumbag among scumbags. But what I care about is how less electable he is than Ron Paul and how much crazier he is than Obama.
Newt Gingrich:Asshole.
Fat asshole. His ego resembles his physical appearance: bloated.
High ranking justice department officials taking the 5th before Congress. That is not Nixonian. That is Nixon.
State Secretz!
your serial infidelities occurred because of how "passionately" you felt about this country and "how hard you worked."
I'm thinking if you put that to a laugh track and run it as an ad, Newt's political career is over.
Great idea. Of course, I don't understand why newt's career isn't already over.
Applies to many pols, cops, preachers, yada yada
Some great men have been pretty awful people in their personal lives. I might give Newcular Titties a pass if he were a great man, come to lead America back to freedom and limited government. But he isn't, so I won't.
For the record, I do think personal morals matter, as they are a fair indication in most cases of what you can expect from the politician. For instance, whatever Paul's flaws are, he seems to be honest and ethical in his behavior.
I am not sure it matters that much. Jimmy Carter is honest and ethical. So was Herbert Hoover. I can think of a million honest and ethical men who were total fucking disasters.
And yeah, a lot of great men were philanderers. I really don't care how he treats his wives.
One was a great ex-president. The one with a dam named after him.
I only think it matters if they're specifically running on some kind of morals or values platform. Then it goes to reliability and truthiness.
I don't think so. If some fat guy tells me it is really bad to live on a diet of pizza and cheetos, I am not going to disbelieve him just because he doesn't live by it.
I wouldn't disbelieve him...but I damn sure wouldn't elect him to any position in which he will have authority over my diet.
Sure. But since when does the President have authority over my married life?
DOMA?
That only says I can't butt fuck. Last I looked we haven't heard Newt was doing that, yet.
Are you sure you can't? I mean, have you tried?
But since when does the President have authority over my diet what plants I grow how my cell phone carriers, banks, and internet can work married life?
It matters to me, but I'm also agreeing that a good president could be an asshole.
I can think of a million honest and ethical men who were total fucking disasters.
Can you think of any dishonest and unethical men who weren't total disasters?
I'm a little reluctant, myself, to say that the content of man's characted is completely irrelevant to the kind of ruler he will make.
It seems like the few politicians I have admired have had good personal integrity as well. I suppose there could be exceptions, and, of course, we don't know all there is to know about anybody.
It does seem that many major figures from the past outside of politics were jerks, personally. That seems to arise again and again. Einstein? Asshole. I mean, big time.
Sure RC. Lots of them. Robert Walpole was a corrupt slime and also invented British Capitalism and was by any measure a great prime minister. Teapot Dome was the worst scandal in history up to that point. And Harding was still a pretty good President even though he had a taste for graft.
Those are two that come to mind. Lots of effective leaders have not been saints.
And Walpole had the greatest nickname in the history of politics. Cock Robin.
Bill Clinton?
Not a good president. Not even a little. However, he did manage not to have a shitty administration thanks to the Congress going Republican, which totally emasculated him, and the boom economy that came as a result of the end of the Cold War, the Internet boom, and the lesser know boom that derived from the advent of ubiquitous computing (just in inventory management alone, much money was made).
Jesus himself would have been a disaster as prez in the late 1970s. Don't blame JC for the inevitable hangover from the LBJ/Nixon binge.
JC was a miserable rotten stinking person who didn't think anyone was worthy of his rule. I will blame a lot on JC.
It's not just his personal life, or his hypocrisy. It's the fact that he doesn't even try to act humbled or ashamed of anything he has said or done.

He is a high-functioning sociopath.
There's that, too. But I do care whether the guy is a scumbag, personally. It's just hard to believe that someone can be that way in their personal life and it not bleed into their professional life. I know there are contrary examples of that--Gandhi comes to mind--but I guess I'm old-fashioned in this regard.
One of the reasons that Newt's multiple marriages bothers me is how it reflects on his efforts to fulfill the lofty sentiments that he loves to express. He is going to lead us to an "American Renewal" and such bullshit. When it actually comes to action, like getting divorced before you fuck around, he does not deliver. Sure, he said "until death do us part" and then said it twice more. He has a plan for everything and maybe even believes they will "work", but if circumstances change, he will just come up with ANOTHER BRILLIANT PLAN!
Good God does Rihanna ever so got it.

Not that one
This one!
http://cdn03.cdnwp.celebuzz.co.....5x580.jpeg
I'll be on it after I drop out.
It's hard to believe Newt's imagination does have its limits, but there you are. As big as that head is, there is only room enough for a thousand or so government schemes to engineer your life into perfection. No room for guessing what despicable things the media can throw at him from out of the blue.
That is what gets me, too. His belief that he deserves to be treated better than that, it is fantasy level narcissism. If I ran for office, I'd have my bags already packed in advance at the consideration my worst sins would be found out. When the press asks about them, I grab my bags and tell 'em, 'motherfuckers, I gotsta go!', instead of whining about being asked about them.
Some things I know Newt has said:
"When done right, analingus is AMAZING!"
"It's called pegging and if you love me you'll do this for me."
"Just because you have cancer doesn't mean fisting should be off the table."
"Yes, I enjoy the taste of my own semen."
"This Fleshlight is much too big."
And you know this how?
WarrenT is Newt's current mistress.
Newt is WarrenT's name IRL.
People needlessly dying and suffering physical and psychological disabilities because of wars you support? He doesn't think that is despicable?
Poor Newt, he was hoping by this time to be in a three way with Bachmann and Palin.
he was hoping by this time to be in a three way with Bachmann and Palin.
To be fair to Newt, so am I!
Somehow Palin and Bachman might be fun. I'm all in.
Everytime you said "despicable" my mind processed it as though Daffy Duck had said it.
Actually Newt isn't all despicable, because he is proving that the mouth-breathing moron SoCons will hyperextend their hypocrisy by still seeing him as the kind of man to lead the country. That is a very valuable lesson to everyone else that considers aligning with them in some kind of coalition.
Maybe. Or maybe they are not as judgmental as people think they are.
It isn't a matter of being judgmental - it is a matter of having sound judgement.
That and olympian hypocrisy.
Most SOCOns are naive. See for example Huckabee pardoning various reprobates because they have found Jesus, as if Jesus were lost.
It has been said that democracy, although benign, is the worst form of government. Never has this been more apparent than in the screaming mobs at the last two South Carolina debates. The lynch mob has it in for the Mormon Romney -- a man of unimpeachable character and impressive professional and political achievement. And the same lynch mob is ready to elect a self-serving glutton whose only apparent redeeming characteristic is that he is 'one of them' and best of all, as such a grotesque specimen, he makes the people voting for him feel better about themselves. No Republic can be trusted to such people and their fundamentally corrupt politicians whose grandiose delusions of grandeur can only encourage the surging tide of centralized authoritarianism which is the root of the moral crisis of the age.
Romneybots and Gingrich freaks fighting it out is always hilarious.
Romney -- a man of unimpeachable character
... who changes his professed views at the drop of a poll or the nudge of a focus group.
Aren't sincerity and honesty components of character?
What about courage? Romney has never done anything brave in his life.
Easy it must have been for him to stay true to his Mormon faith through his years at Stanford and Harvard? Easy it must have been for him as he was having doors slammed in his face in the south of France as a Mormon missionary? Easy for him to take a principled defense of RomneyCare, with the knowledge that the constitutional distinction between a state and federal mandate would be lost on the Limbaugh lynch mob. Romney would already be President if it wasn't for his unfortunate commitment to his very politically inexpedient faith in a country that once was fertile soil for the cultivation of a soul, but now is drowned in the brackish water of organized religion. Romney will never be elected President, but this is not a crisis for Mitt Romney as much as it is a statement of the profound moral degeneration that has befallen the once great republic. Once upon a time we were a nation of free men who wished only to be left alone to pursue our notions of greatness in privacy. Now the United States of America is a leviathan, not an assemblage of private personalities but instead a single disutopian amalgamation that lurches across oceans to combat invented adversaries, while spying on the intimate thoughts of it's subjects here at home. We once were citizens and now we are hosts. How telling that Newt Gingrich, a Presidental candidate in the image of a Bourbon King, is surging to the lead of a party that fancies itself as the one for limited government. But, our son king is utterly devoted to government schemes-- it has been his life from his formative years growing up on a family supported by the state.
I'm not sure that staying "true" to the Mormon faith is anything much to be proud of. All religions are stupid. Mormonism is among the stupidest.
...he has been putting up with his entire life. And although quirky to a hilt, the man is no fool.
You are familiar with the details of this "faith" aren't you? You do know the details of its origins and you are familiar with it's various doctrines, right?
...And mainstream Christianity doesn't have any weird beliefs?
Now the United States of America is a leviathan, not an assemblage of private personalities but instead a single disutopian amalgamation that lurches across oceans to combat invented adversaries, while spying on the intimate thoughts of it's subjects here at home.
Wait, I'm confused. I thought you were a romney supporter. Why would you have a problem with that?
As far as I can tell, Romney subscribes to the Reagan model regarding the military: Have the biggest stick around so you won't have to use it. Unfortunately, considering the nature of the current (hysterical) US voting population, this is the least worst position for an 'electable' presidential candidate to adopt.
But, our son king is utterly devoted to government schemes-- it has been his life from his formative years growing up on a family supported by the state.
It's sun king, not "son" king. And one grows up in a family, not "on" one.
Easy for him to take a principled defense of RomneyCare, with the knowledge that the constitutional distinction between a state and federal mandate would be lost on the Limbaugh lynch mob.
A distinction that is of small comfort to the serfs whom such a mandate requires to pay a fee for the "privilege" of drawing breath.
There's a brain cell in the back of my head pulling for Newt just like it pulled for McCain 4 years ago. Having him in the White House would give me the freedom for unlimited loathing of the President -- and I'd probably have the back of my car plastered with bumperstickers
Oh, c'mon. You can't manage unlimited loathing of Santorum, Romney, or Obama?
And what about having the sheer gall to claim on the Christian Broadcasting Network - of all places - that your serial infidelities occurred because of how "passionately" you felt about this country and "how hard you worked."
Don't you get it folks? It's America's fault that he cheated on his wives. This country should do Callista a favor and save their marriage; Ron Paul 2012.
*like*
I don't think he is. I truly believe that Newt feels he's above all moral judgment, like Zeus.
Love for country caused Newt to cheat and killed Kim Jong-il.
Maybe there should be a health warning abut the dangers of too much patriotism.
It matters perhaps only because of the hypocrisy--people who lecture and try to make policy about "family values" and such ought to probably lead by example. But we are probably the most morally priggish nations in the developed world--France has hardly collapsed because of politicians' sexual escapades, and more great leaders in history than not have been promiscuous.
Anyway I'm starting to think Newt is more electable than Romney, if only because of his skill with demagoguery. How the hell does Mitt not know the tax return question is coming? He's got more east coast blue blood tics and hangups that GHW Bush and John Kerry put together.
Hmm? What hypocrisy? Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines. Monogamy is a pagan Roman custom, not a Bible-based stricture.
Of course, it's a Roman custom. Do you really think any man would want more than one Italian wife? 🙂
Well, yeah, it is the hyprocrisy, and the kicking your wife while she is ill. Plus newt's supercilious, self aggrandizing attitude. He is a completely unlikable person.
Newt reminds me of Bill Bennett spouting off about family values and the evils of drugs and how marijuana is the gateway to hell, all the while gambling away hundreds of thousands of dollars in Vegas.
And smoking the wrong stuff while he did it. You are right -- it is ONLY about the hypocrisy, not the initial misdeeds. Own up to your failings and you may attract some second looks from the Instantly Outraged. Or not. In Noot's case, definitely not. He's insufferable.
If Democrats publicly take half the blame for how fucked-up America has become over the decades, I'll go along with your post, Tony.
I really needed that ego-boost, Tony.
Your check is in the mail.
I think that whole "liberal media" thing is like, a gateway retardicity. If you believe that, then you're ready to go for the whole Repulibcan passage.
My god. He looks an awful lot like a Galapagos tortoise in that picture.
My first thought was that he looks like a Rancor.
Newt Gingrich:
"
Newt Gingrich admits he is a liar:
"You know, campaigns are interesting experiences for all of us, and each of us writes a selective history that fits our interests."
Yesterday's debate
"You're right: I think grandiose thoughts. This is a grandiose country of big people doing big things, and we need leadership prepared to take on big projects. (Cheers, applause.)"
The Bourbon King aims to replace the Prince of Hyde Park, yet you can expect the grandiose government plans for your life to keep giving you headaches.
"leadership to take on big projects."
A true conservative!
Which is the future of the GOP?
Gingrich: You're right: I think grandiose thoughts. This is a grandiose country of big people doing big things, and we need leadership prepared to take on big projects. (Cheers, applause.)
Romney: one of the things I find amusing is listening -- is listening to how -- how much credit is taken in Washington for what goes on on Main Street. ... there's a sense that Washington is pulling the strings in America. But you know what? The free people of America, pursuing their dreams and taking risk and going to school and working hard -- those are the people that make America strong, not Washington.
I am almost ready to believe in God again if it means I can order up a lightning bolt (Nature's drone attack) on this fathead wannabe emperor. He is nauseating? (sound of toilet flushing)
Why does the first state to secede get to go third in the primary?
Ha! Ha! Stupid Newt doesn't have the media in his pocket like I did in 2008.
God I love me some good media bias!
Let that person who is without sin and self agrandizement be the first to hurl criticism.
The public limelight for politicians, broadcasters and entertainers seem to draw unendicted miscreants of every twisted ilk malformed to the social creed of our Judeo-Christian foundation.
Spot-on. The sad part is, as some commentator recently said, that as tarnished as Newt's skidmarked and wrinkled old soul is, at least he has one -- unlike Mittbot.
The moral character of the President is an issue. While having an 'open marriage' or not is not necessarily a moral issue in my opinion, condemning people like Clinton for infidelity while holding yourself up as a paragon of "traditional virtues" (don't look too far back for that "traditional" part) is hypocritical and completely fair game for discussion in a debate.
Thanks
