"Occupiers Set Their Sets on the DCCC"
Sets of what?
Good Morning Links!
2011 Adam Carolla on the #Occupy kids and 1968 Al Capp on the #OccupySWINE
they're getting warmer...
+1
they're just livin' in their "little snow globes of assdouchery".
that just about distills it...
I love Adam Carolla.
Also, apparently JohnTagliaferro writes femdom erotica, so, uh, that.
Yeah, he's kinda funny but he's about as articulate as O2.
leave me outta ur fantasies please
But they're femdom fantasies, so it's progressive!
That was awesome. I don't think I've heard the term ass-douche used so many times in one interview.
Typo: Occupy protesters will disuprt an event being held by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
Professional basketball keeps one in good shape for being a model.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/fem.....model.html
I guess I didn't mention that the basketball player is a 23yr old Swedish female.
Good enough to eat!
Just awesome.
Problem with female athletes: No tits.
B-cup or smaller still counts.
in a world populated by tiny people, yes.
More than a mouthful's a waste...
You're just not being creative enough.
+1 Ska
Problem with female athletes: No tits.
The softball & bowling teams (aka The Herd) respectfully disagree. Oh, you meant actual, like athletic athletes? My mistake.
It's been my experience that basketball players usually have an ample enough rack. As added reinforcement, the girl with the most improportionately large natural boobs I know was a 4-year starter on our HS team.
Very nice.
"I have to constantly train my ass".
I could have sworn I... a friend... once saw a pRoN movie with a similar title. I could volunteer my services as a trainer, even if your hips are a bit bony.

Which has more dicks in it: the movie "Just gone gay 8" or the local news station that publicly shames a teacher who had been a porn star?
http://www.myfoxboston.com/dpp.....r-20111129
While i wouldn't want my kid being taught by someone who had sex on camera for money, I have a lower opinion of someone who ruins lives on camera for money.
While i wouldn't want my kid being taught by someone who had sex on camera for money...
Why? Not that it's crazy, I'm just curious what your particular concern is.
I don't see the big deal either. I had a teacher in high school who had been in Playboy back in the med 1970s. The tattered copy of the issue she appeared in was a treasured school heirloom handed down secretly from class to class. She was a really good teacher too.
Ditto, though sometime in the 25 years between posing and teaching my class she blew up to roughly 400 lbs and wore a groove into the hardwood floor between her desk and the overhead projector. My desk was in that groove, The Red badge of Courage made an excellent shim.
My teacher was still thin and attractive. She wasn't gorgeous and she wore a bit too much makeup. But she was still thin and had a nice body. She was really smart and eccentric. Just did not fit the mold of your typical high school English teachers. She was one of my favorite teachers even before I found out about the Playboy bit.
I had a young and very cute teacher in High School who taught French. The only reason I stuck around in that class was for a) it was 95% girls and watching the teacher's ass shake as the wrote on the chalkboard... and she was so desperate for students that we all passed, even though I learned very little French.
My psychology teacher my senior year was very cute and probably about 25 at the time. She was only seven years older than me. If I could have met her a few years later, I would have totally dated her. We got on great. It was the only time I ever successfully flirted with a teacher.

argh... squirrels...
Hmmm...more likely beavers.
In high school I had a history teacher who was fresh out of college and stunning. Her usual attire was a light-colored blouse, mid-thigh skirt, stockings, and heels. She had open seating and it was always a press to get in and take one of the desks across from where she'd sit on a high-top seat facing the class with her crossed legs.
I'll be in my bunk.
We had one that was always rumored to have been one, but no one could produce the proof.
She was the ex-wife of a good friend of my dad's. Dad said she wasn't, but was always cagey when he answered. She had a daughter my age, and the daughter was stunning, if only about as bright as a 10 watt bulb.
We had the proof. It was her. I forget her name. I haven't thought of her in years. She was divorced always had a collection of well off boyfriends.
Pics or GTFO, John.
All the old Playboys are online now. I should pull out my old year book and find her again.
Yes. Yes, you should.
I should pull out my old year book
Oh, is that what the kids are calling it, nowadays...? 😉
the daughter was stunning, if only about as bright as a 10 watt bulb.
So, she was perfect?
Porn does not occur in a vaccumn (although it may in John Stagliano's new flick "enemas in space."). The circumstances that led a person to be on a porn set are unlikley to be positively correlated with affirmative life choices.
No matter the subject content, teachers are also role models. You can't teach effectively if you can't resolve conflicts. One way this is done is through role modelling appropriate behavior.
The kind of person who answers affirmatively to the question to "you mean I get $200 and all I have to do is let some stanger splooge on my face and the image will forever be available for the world to see? What's the downside?" is unlikely to have a strong grasp of appropriate priority-setting and positive decision making. I would rather have my child's teachers demonstrate decision making skills that take the future into account.
You are not alone, but I think your "downside" is an unfair positive-feedback loop. Ex: Appearing in porn is bad because people will judge you harshly in the future, so I will judge you harshly for doing porn.
"Affirmative life choices...." seriously? What does that even mean?
It means the opposite of having strangers shove their junk in your mouth on camera.
Why? See Coyote below: is it the sex, the camera, or the money?
Sum is worse than the parts. Mnost of us have done domb or embarassing things for/during sex. Many of us have done dumb/embarrasing things on camera.
Combine them and you have the maximum opportunity for letting everyone know how dumb/embarassing you are.
Welcome to the 21st century. From here on out, everything is going to be insanely well documented...
And if that's the case, why in your original post are you bashing the newscasters? They are exposing what you just admitted you would not want happening in your child's school. That's their job, right?
The kind of person who answers affirmatively to the question to "you mean I get $200 and all I have to do is let some stanger splooge on my face and the image will forever be available for the world to see? What's the downside?" is unlikely to have a strong grasp of appropriate priority-setting and positive decision making. I would rather have my child's teachers demonstrate decision making skills that take the future into account.
I'd rather have a brilliant mathmatician and communicator that did a couple years of porn than a liberal arts movie major that can't focus on teaching for 5 minutes teaching a calculus class.
Agreed, but most employers will not hire or subsequently terminate the employment of someone who lied or omitted information on their employment application.
"Affirmative life choices"?
Does your handbag match your shoes today?
And do they all match your dress?
I would rather have my child's teachers demonstrate decision making skills that take the future into account.
You may also be unwittingly making the case that few under the age of 60 should teach. 😉
The circumstances that led a person to be on a porn set are unlikley to be positively correlated with affirmative life choices.
Firstly, as pornography has become more mainstream, this is much less likely to be the case. Secondly, since when is "I needed the money badly" a reason for reprimand?
Only when it results in actions that are harmful to others such as theft. Consensual acts that make money are not bad, even if a third uninvolved party doesn't like it.
Unfortunately, the non-porn-star teachers who went straight from high school to a school of education to your kid's class room have demonstrated that they set the priorities of:
1: Getting fake credentials
2: Planning from a young age to occupy an overpaid sinecure
3: Voluntarily choosing the least challenging educational institution with the biggest amount of bullshit in its classes
Etc.
There is virtually no way to have a teacher who is a positive role model unless you have your kid parked in front of a computer watching the Khan Academy stuff.
I just introduced my six-year-old twins to some Kahn Academy vids. It's amazing that he can be talking about the number line and yet hold their attention.
The thing about Khan Academy is now it's an arms race kind of thing.
So many kids are using it that if your kid has any math aptitude at all you have to get him on to it or the other kids will smoke his ass.
A kid with an above-average IQ will blaze about 4 grades ahead in his first week, while your kid (if he's not using it) is sitting there in some class with his thumb up his ass while the teacher tries to get the slow kids to count to ten.
I wish my politicians would "demonstrate decision making skills that take the future into account", but hell, at this point I'll just take the pr0n.
"affirmative life choices" [snicker]
You're being an assdouche, Abby.
Also, some people make bad decisions when they're young but grow out of them. How nice of you to force them to wear the scarlet letter for life.
Did I call you an assdouche already?
You're really worked up about this. Were you his co-star?
No. I think my opinion would still be just as valid had I been an adult entertainment worker, but since it seems to matter to you I'm glad to be able to pronounce you an assdouche on the merits alone, not because I have any personal interest. Cheers!
Good luck with the release of DILF-fucker 12!
How deep is your homophobia, Abdul? Is it a result of a conservo-religious upbringing?
It's skin deep. However, my contempt of humorless prigs goes to the bone.
" is unlikely to have a strong grasp of appropriate priority-setting and positive decision making."
Would not the fact that she was able to rise above her porn history to contribute to society be considered an "affirmative life choice"?
The circumstances that led a person to be on a porn set are unlikley to be positively correlated with affirmative life choices.
Look at Jenna Jameson as exhibit A. In her biography, she basically admitted that the only reason she did her first porn scenes was to piss off her boyfriend at the time.
I think we've had a couple of commenters on here who've worked on the sets, and have pointed out that most of the people who end up doing porn are typically pretty messed up emotionally.
The most important lesson that people need to learn in this day and age is that if there's ANYTHING that can be construed as shady or salacious about your past, it's going to be found out sooner or later, and you better be ready to deal with the fallout when it does come out in the open.
My question would be, is it the Sex, the Camera or the Money?
It's cause the teacher was a dude. If Sasha Grey wanted to teach their kids they'd all be in an uproar and then secretly ask her to fuck them on the side.
I am conflicted about the whole "I wouldn't want my kid..." thing. I understand the distaste, believe me, but on the other hand, is there a point in people's lives where they can actually put the past behind them? If someone has become a teacher, it sounds as if they have had a desire to improve themselves and put a tawdry episode to rest. I guess I think (intellectually) that there's a point that the crappy choices one makes while in the wild flings of youth shouldn't affect their whole life. I guess I think there should be a statute of limitations of sorts on youthful dumbness.
Completely agreed with you on the whole ruining someone's life on camera.
It wasn't that far in the past--the most recent movie was released last year.
And this is where we get to decision making skills that take the future into account. Doing a bukkake scene for a few hundred bucks make seem like fun now--but it will be enshrined forever on the internet! Even if the bukkake scene would not ruin your current reputation, one should think "Do I want some future person to know I did this because even with a clever screen name like Hytch Cawke, they will find out."
I think we're fast approaching the point where it won't matter what stupid thing you did that you don't want your kids to know you did, because the fact you did it will be enshrined forever to anyone who wants to dig.
Which means it had to have been produced within the last two years, right? And the actors have total control over release timing.
Assdouche!
Too bad (for him) that he was in gay porn. If he was in straight porn, no one would have looked at his face or cared who he was.
Wasn't there whole thing about Sasha Grey reading some books to kids or something?
I agree with Tonio. Your condemning of porn people from ever doing anything in the future because they did porn in the past makes you a complete assdouche.
A porn star provides a service to consenting adults. A government teacher makes a living being in charge of captive kids. I think the transition from porn star to public school teacher is a step down.
aye
Yeah. It may sound flip, but, honestly, I've got fewer problems, morally, with someone who takes money for sex than someone who takes a government paycheck. But I wouldn't want my daughter to do either.
So porn stars should hold to their ideals and become private school teachers?
Boys at boarding schools across America are rejoicing right now.
Abdul, you are no different than the shamers. All that matters is If she or he can teach
Actually, you are viperous because you recognize their illiberality, and yet admit you would engage in it
Horseshit
I think it's interesting that someone in one of America's Progressive Paradises is even being hounded by the local media about this.
Apparently, Perception of Child Influence > Celebration of Diverse Sexuality, even in Massachusetts.

"War on Militancy" is my new favorite snark of the day.
Sounds like President Michele is going to hit the ground running that first day on the job.

Didn't RTFA, but that whole [if I were president] is a little dangerous, since the entire "gaffe" is based on imputation. If she actually meant [if I were Prime Minister of the UK], then it doesn't sound nearly as stupid.
Either she doesn't know we don't have an embassy or she doesn't know the UK doesn't have a president.
Ron Paul's New Ad kicks ass.

Obama Invokes Cold-War Law to Unmask Chinese Telecom Spyware
December 01, 2011, 7:46 AM EST
Dec. 1 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. is invoking Cold War-era national-security powers to force telecommunication companies including AT&T Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc. to divulge confidential information about their networks in a hunt for Chinese cyber-spying.
In a survey distributed in April, the U.S. Commerce Department asked for a detailed accounting of foreign-made hardware and software on the companies' networks. It also asked about security-related incidents such as the discovery of "unauthorized electronic hardware" or suspicious equipment that can duplicate or redirect data, according to a copy of the survey reviewed by Bloomberg News.
The survey represents "very high-level" concern that China and other countries may be using their growing export sectors to develop built-in spying capabilities in U.S. networks, said a senior U.S. intelligence official who asked not to be named because he wasn't authorized to speak on the matter.
"This is beyond vague suspicions," said Richard Falkenrath, a senior fellow in the Council on Foreign Relations Cyberconflict and Cybersecurity Initiative. "Congress is now looking at this as well, and they're doing so based on very specific material provided them in a classified setting" by the National Security Agency, he said.
So-called spyware implanted in hardware or hidden in millions of lines of code could intercept sensitive information while being almost impossible to detect, according to Joshua Pennell, president of IOActive Inc., a Seattle-based cyber security firm.
Spyware in critical U.S. networks that carry much of the country's data would make industrial espionage or the interception of politically sensitive information almost effortless.
Companies that refused to respond could face criminal penalties under the Defense Production Act, a 1950 law allowing the government to manage the wartime economy, according to the survey. The law was invoked sporadically during the Cold War, said Lewis, the computer security expert.
Lewis of the CSIS said U.S. officials suspect the Chinese government is subsidizing the discounts to give U.S. companies incentives to buy Chinese-made network equipment.

yet another "free market" abuse which randians must dismiss as an aberration since the "market" ALWAYS knows best.
Yes, the Chinese government inserting their infrastructure into telecom companies is a "free market" abuse. WTF?

I have no idea what you're trying to splutter.
where's the free-market DUE-DILIGENCE the lack of which requires govt intervention ?
Let me borrow from SugarFree and help you out, then...
Dear sirs,
I believe that ATT's failure to consider why the Chinese were supplying it with subsidized telecom equipment is a market failure. As one company which relies on government-granted monopolies for many of its markets failed to consider the national security implications of its purchases, I conclude that all corporations need microscale government oversight of all imported equipment.

"Tim, Chris, I hope you're not right about the lack of warming lasting till about 2020?
Question: If warming really threatens to destroy human civilization, why was Jones hoping for warming?
And if the world was still warming in 2009, why did Jones refer to "lack of warming"?
And why do I need a PhD to interpret the above?
Arduin,
You might find my latest post on the Liberty Papers of interest.
Climate Gate 2.0 ? What is it, why does it matter?
tarran,
That is a nicely put together post on the issues that are being debated. I think you are missing an important piece of the story, however. That is this...if this science is so poorly done/untrustworthy, the best approach to discredit the work is to do an independent study showing the results are wrong. If the energy being put into dissecting these emails was put into generating a study that demonstrates how the scientific results are inaccurate, it would lend credence to the claim that the science has been damaged by the CRU team and the "misbehavior" that some see in these emails. Muller has said this is what his work is and it will be interesting to see how that plays out if/when it gets through peer review and people have time to discuss it. While I certainly don't read all the literature, when I do, I don't see the CRU folks or anyone else downplaying the uncertainties in their findings. Most of the "hidden" data or "unavailable data" is actually readily available and is used by a wide variety of scientist for a range of purposes.
The emails can be used to paint a picture that looks bad, but when you step back from them, I don't think they end up having much relevance to the scientific discussion.
The debate that has taken place in the journals about methodology in MBH98 is how this should be conducted. And it is an on-going discussion. I think many are disappointed that McI's paper didn't make a bigger splash, but he ran up against a truism in science about complex topics: choices matter and even when you are sure you are making the right ones (or pointing out how others have made the wrong ones), there will be others who see the issue differently and don't find your devastating arguments as important or devastating as you hoped.
A quick follow up:
The efforts to mitigate climate change are interfering with economic development that is needed to bring much of humanity out of the misery of poverty, increasing the cost of living for most people living in the developing world and is creating crony-capitalistic institutions that are ripe for corruption.
This is a pretty broad claim. I am skeptical it has been shown in any rigorous way.
And how will these counter-studies get published in credible publications given the fairly well supported accusation that pro-AGW scientists have strong-armed editors willing to publish peer-reviewed non-AGW supporting climate studies?
Brett L,
Those accusations don't seem well supported to me. Even if you take the accusations that the CRU folks attempted to strong-arm editors, they seem to have failed.
lack of peer revew paperz = free marketz failurez
only denierz fail to mak peer reviewz
And why do I need a PhD to interpret the above?
Because you are otherwise not qualified to interpret what it means. I don't understand why this is so hard for you people.
No confirmation bias going on there.
And why do I need a PhD to interpret the above?
You don't.
For instance:
if the world was still warming in 2009, why did Jones refer to "lack of warming"?
Someone with a basic understanding of English can parse this easily...if they have even a little bit of familiarity with the issue. English discourse includes many cohesive devices that reduce the processing load for the reader/listener. One of those is ellipsis. The way this strategy works is to delete "understood" or "in-focus" information. So, for instance, you can write "the lack of warming" and expect your reader to recognize that short-term variability in warming is being referred to as opposed to long-term warming trends. You don't have to write "the current, short-term variability in the warming that presents as a lack of warming on shorter scales."
You can also use basic understanding of larger discourse principles to answer your question about "hoping for warming." But I'll let you work that out yourself.

Male, diamond solitaire engagement rings. That is pretty much the gayest thing I have ever seen. NTTAWWT
Any guy who would actually wear one of those should just cut off whatever remains of his balls.
The End Times are upon us.
And maybe he should have one mounted on a ring.
"Your ring smells terrible."
My chastity belt causes yeast infections.
"My yeast infection is my chastity belt."
Notice to all men out there who do not already know this: If you propose to a woman and she insists that you wear an engagement ring, stop right there and get your self out the door ASAP. You will be doing yourself the biggest favor you have ever done for yourself. Unless of course your intention is to take her for her money, in which case you make her buy the rings and then be sure to pick a ring heavy with gold and diamonds.
- William, San Antonio, Texas, 01/12/2011 13:22
Gonna have to agree with this guy.
No kidding--I actually wouldn't have a problem with wearing an engagement ring if the woman was willing to shell out at least the equivalent cost of what I'm paying for hers. That little provision might have the effect of killing this bit of feminist nonsense stone-dead.
I never minded my wedding band, and I could see myself tolerating wearing some sort of "engagement token".
I recommend that my future betrothed show I am her soon-to-be-husband by getting me a very tasteful engagement sports car.
In Brazil this is standard.
My wedding band, a modest plain band of gold, was on my right hand until we got married when it was switched to my left. Yes. My wife is Brazilian.
But there's no way I'd wear that first ring. No. Fucking. Way.
Yes. My wife is Brazilian.
Pix or didn't happen.
The ring that guy is wearing seems rather feminine, but the white gold one further down isn't too bad. It looks like a regular wedding ring.

Egypt is a long ways from where the oil is. I doubt they will be attacking Saudi or the Gulf states or Libya for that matter.
Egypt is a long ways from where the oil is.
Do tankers use the Suez? Seriously, is the Suez canal big enough for oil tankers?
Some are too big.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suezmax
It may look too big, but you just have to slowly stretch out your canal until it fits.
ULCC and VLCC are too big for Suez, and have been since their introduction in the 70s. I think VLCCs may be able to transit Suez in ballast. From this link (apologies in advance for the atrocious web design):
My reading is that the introduction of VLCC and ULCCs started with various MidEast wars causing the closure of Suez. I wonder if there's such a thing as a Hormuz-Max crude carrier? The industry has been going towards "smaller" carriers than ULCCs like the Seawise Giant. It was getting to be too much of a PITA dealing with the draught requirements for ports and seaways, IIRC. The Seawise Giant was incapable of transiting the English Channel, for example.
Sadly, it will become our problem if the Camp David Accords go down the crapper and a new all out Arab-Israeli war breaks out.
'There's nazi, er um, nothing to worry about!'
They'll shake it off soon enough.
Just like Iran?
Then again, Israel is right next door. They might not shake it off, but the IDF can bomb it to bits.
Warmest Decade in Centuries
"Our science is solid and it proves unequivocally that the world is warming and that this warming is due to human activities," WMO Secretary General Michel Jarraud said in a statement, adding that policy makers should take note of the findings.

No warming since 1998.
There has been no warming since 1998.

Of course I still can't explain why there's been no warming since 1998 derpity derp.
warming? never! praise koch
Egypt is facing the likelihood of an Islamist-dominated parliament. Egyptian liberals are not happy.
In other words, the Muslim Brotherhood is taking over Egypt? Golly jeepers, who in the world could possibly have ever seen that one coming?? Reason led me to believe that the "Arab Spring" was the dawn of a wonderful new day over there!
Libertarian peaceniks tend to be a bit naive.
When nations become democracies, they get governments that reflect what people there actually want.
You can either fight that by imposing a strongman, or you can embrace it and just make friends with whoever wins the election.
The Saudis are Islamists and they are our friends. So there's no reason we can't be friends with these guys too.
If they decide to not cooperate with Israel on blockading the Palestinians any more, who gives a shit? That's Israel's problem and not ours.
I don't disagree. But that doesn't mean that the Reason staff who were so convinced this was going to be a liberal revolution and not empower the Islamists were not wildly naive.
In the end, I doubt the people of Egypt really have the stomach to go and die by the tens of thousands fighting Israel. They might. But if they do, our imposing a strong man over them just delayed the problem. They have to get it out of their system on their own.
I don't recall anyone on the Reason staff saying Egypt was going to end up as a liberal democracy. But then I, unlike some commenters, aren't on here every day.
""I don't recall anyone on the Reason staff saying Egypt was going to end up as a liberal democracy""
I don't recall that claim either. But there was a sort of a end of tryrant belief that prevailed with most people in general.
The Saudis are not our friends, we are their friend. Ditto Israel.
well said
^this^
Or even, countries don't actually have 'friends', they have mutual interests.
Yes, that's more accurate.
OH GOD FLUFFY REALLY BELIEVES MY SIDES!
The Saudis are Islamists and they are our friends.
Well, except for the part where they fund the Wahhabi wing of the global jihad, anyway,
Kind of like Lybia, the country we helped free....still, secular violent oppression is not exactly better than religious violent oppression. One can only hope that Egypt doesn't start executing the secularists, but hey, are we going to fix every nation's problems?
I'll answer your question with a question: how many countries do we have troops in?
i'm pretty sure more than 20.
So, yes, apparently we are going to try to fix the world's problems, because nothing fixes things faster than Americans with guns.
It's that American Exceptionalism, don't you know.
What do we win once we fix everything?
This video of Niall Ferguson schooling Mika and Joe is priceless - and poignant.
Has Ferguson been fired from Harvard yet?
Here is a partial transcript:
"Right now, we have a six month period of military rule. Right now we have, as far as I can see, virtually no organization on the part of secular democrats. The only organized opposition force in Egyptian politics right now is the Muslim Brotherhood? The risks are extremely high that between now and the end of the year the Muslim Brotherhood will get into power"
Indeed, that twit, Jesse Walker has been eerily silent on this for a long time. Fancy that.
Egypt doesn't need democracy, it needs an enema.
Democrats control the cities the dirty hippies are occupying. It was only a matter of time before those Democrats come in conflict with either the occupiers or the constituents the mob is inconveniencing.

Egypt is facing the likelihood of an Islamist-dominated parliament. Egyptian liberals are not happy.
I guess it's time for the Coptic Christians to have a state of their own. The Sinai Peninsula is the most liberal part of Egypt and geographically separate from the rest of the country. How about turning it into an independent state?
yeah, that's going to happen...
It's more like the ones who are left had better get out of there pretty soon before they get exterminated.
That's worked so well in the past.
Is Physical Strength the Most Important Thing in Life?
http://pjmedia.com/lifestyle/2.....g-in-life/
Lots of stupid in the comments like:
and
Well, physical strength and the lamentations of their women.
Muscle training generally leads to cardio training.
I have always loved the 'muscle mass turns into fat' bullshit. There is no possible mechanism for that to happen.
However, if you keep eating like you're training and quit training, you get fat. When you quit training, you have to reduce the food intake.
agreed. When I was first into weightlifting, I busted two of my ribs in an unrelated accident. I suddenly started gaining pounds since I still had the appetite but wasn't burning the calories. btw, it took months before I could bench-press without pain.
Wow. I first heard that way back in, oh, late '70s I guess, and even as a callow yute I thought "Uh, I don't think it works that way..."
Bill to ban insider trading in Congress is suddenly popular

How about they just stop exempting themselves from every other criminal and civil regulation they require the rest of us to follow, like the Americans with Disabilities Act? Instead of playing whack-a-mole with removing their exemptions one by one?
Jezebel on How to Deal with the Thanksgiving Food Police
Does this happen to, well, anyone?
Seriously, Thanksgiving is for gourging yourself, not for telling people they are fat.
It probably happens to women. Never underestimate how vicious women are too each other. Lots of them would love nothing better than to tell their sister or in law they are fat and shouldn't eat that.
Well, the science backs that thesis.
Her? Yes, that might really happen to her.
Ragen Chastain
curse you.
If that is really her, it should happen to her. Her family needs to do an intervention. That woman is eating herself to death. She would probably live longer if she were addicted to smack.
So let's say she goes on a diet and loses an amazing 100 pounds.
What do you say to her? "Wow, you look great! What are you down to, like, 300?"
Even on a woman that large a 100 pounds would make a difference. She would go from "oh my God" to just an ordinary fat woman. So you really could say she looks great by comparison.
Just a joke, John. I would have credited the comic I heard it from, but in my defense, I don't remember who it was.
I know. I have heard that one.
"Only 150 to go, slugger!"
That's her. The Google does not lie, John. That's something only humans do.
Whoa, it's like she ate the cast of West Side Story
Damn reasonable auto-preview
Market failure.
That, right there, is funny.
The worst thing about that picture? The insurance company got a hold of it and the jury ruled that they didn't have to pay for the damage to the stage.
On any normal website, the comments would be, "Well, obviously this happens to you."
God, she is super fat.
Yow. "Tor Johnson is Christine Jorgensen in THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS!"
Oh, that poor floor.
"For God's sake, whatever you do... DON'T LOOK UP!!!"
She's never gonna achieve any greater altitude without that magic feather.
Five bucks says her blood type is Crisco.

Somewhere, out in the vast reaches of the Nevada desert, a seismograph just shot itself. In self-defense.
If you are an insecure, man-hating Jezzie, then yes, Thanksgiving is exactly for putting your poor body image psychosis into hyperdrive.
This happens to almost all of my fat friends, ...
A poster on jezebel is a fattie with fat friends? Who would have suspected such a thing?
it's fatties all the way down.
Have never had that happen to me (as my friends and family are not assholes for the most part-- at least not in that way), but I can easily believe there are people douche-y enough to say stuff like that.
I like her responses.
5 Reasons Money Can Buy Happiness
If it doesn't buy happiness, it certainly prevents a whole lot of misery that comes with being poor.
"You can't buy happiness, but you can rent it" Wierd Al Yankovic (I think)
The quote is "If money can't buy happiness, I'll guess I'll have to rent it." From "This Is The Life".
First I heard was Thurston Howell III.
"There's no shame in being poor, it's just damned inconvenient."
"If money is a curse, may I be smitten and never recover!"
Also, could is there some way to disassociate oneself with ones generation?
Because I am getting super tired of being lumpred in with the Occupy Douches.
Seriously. "We're doing it FOR YOU!"
Unzip your fly. When someone points out that your fly is unzipped, scream in their face "I KNOW! HOW ELSE IS MY PENIS SUPPOSE TO BREATHE?!?"
I was in a bar in Raleigh one night and a guy I was with unzipped his fly, whipped it out and said "breathe, little fella, breathe!"
The evening went downhill from there.
Clearly, you were at the wrong bar.
So, Awesometown is downhill from that bar? Because that's the only way what you stated makes any sense whatsoever.
First, lose the hipster pants. They were never attractive in the first place. For further disassociation, I suggest Dockers and a polo shirt.
I'd rather be lumped in with the occutards.
Try being lumped in with the Boomer assholes like I am. That really sucks.
I feel your pain. My dad was born only six months before Pearl Harbor, and yet I'm a fucking boomer? WTF?
Exactly, I'm at the tail end of the boomers, yet I get to be a part of the filthy 1960's hippies generation? Damn.
That must be the worst.
I have a good job, so I think I'm pretty well disassociated from them.
Wow- that Andy Stern thing is a gigantic steaming pile of dog shit. I had no idea anybody ever referred to "five year plans" as anything but a pathetic joke.
But- If Andy Grove said it, it must be true. I'm surprised Stern didn't manage to work a quote from Kindly Old Grandpa Buffett in there.
Basically he is saying freedom is going to the ash heap of history. It is easy to laugh it off because it is so stupid. But it makes my hair stand on end.
Stern thinks he'll be in charge, instead of one of the first put in the camps as a threat to whoever he ultimately empowers.
He will willingly go to the firing squad for the good of the revolution.
He will be like Winston Smith's neighbor after his kids rat him out. Grateful that he was stopped before he could harm the collective.
So skip Stern and read Andy Grove's argument.

The List Of Free Agents 'Lining Up' To Play For The Miami Heat Is Terrifying
It just means I won't be caring about the NBA. If that team ever wins a title, it will be the death of the league.
But as long as it doesn't win the league, it's high comedy. I'll take those odds.
Of those, the only one I care about is Shane Battier. That guy is legit. But Grant Hill is too old, and Caron Butler too injury prone.
Duke Sucks
^^^THIS^^^
No. No it doesn't. It used to, because Christian Laitner (or however you spell that closeted faggot's name) went their and stomped a kentucky player who was on his back, but Shane Battier redeamed them by saying he initially didn't want to play for Duke because of Laitner, but decided to afterall because he would not be like that closeted faggot and wouldn't let his teammates behave like that either.
If they get Dalembert and J.J. Barea (he's stated the Heat as his second choice after the Mavs), they're going to be tough to beat as they will finally have a legitimate center and point guard. I'm worried...
That's something my father has told me since I was a little kid. Turns out he was right.
Frickin' squirrels. That was directed at John below.
My roommate got Gears 3 last night. Super excited to try it with him soon. Any things I should know?

Great Moments in Municipal Governance
San Fernando, Calif., a city of 24,000 in the northern part of the eponymous valley, has a few problems with its local government. Among them, according to the San Fernando Sun: "a police chief 'on vacation' for having sex with a cadet," "a police dispatcher caught exposing himself," and a member of the city council who "votes on the police department while having a sexual affair" with a police sergeant.
As of last week, there's one more:
With his wife, Anna, sitting in the front row, Mayor Mario Hernandez, for whatever reason, decided Monday night was the night to formally announce that he lost his business, and filed personal and corporate bankruptcy. "And secondly," Mayor Hernandez said, "I'd like to put out there, 'to squash the rumors,' that yes, I have been in a relationship with Councilwoman (Maribel) De La Torre." . . .
The aggrieved wife bravely stood up and said, "That's why I'm here . . ." Mayor Hernandez retorted, "Yes, I know" as she continued to try to speak, saying "I'm his wife. . . . We weren't separated."
The paper notes: "It's no surprise that Mayor Hernandez failed to take the city's mandatory ethics training last February." If his failure to take it led him to behave like this, that must be one hell of a good ethics course.

"It's no surprise that Mayor Hernandez failed to take the city's mandatory ethics training last February."
Let's be fair. There are only so many hours in the day; embezzlement and adultery quite rightfully take precedence.

From Dear Prudence today
Dear Prudence,
I found out entirely by accident that my husband urinates in sinks. He does it not only at home, but in other people's homes as well. Afterwards, he rinses the sink with water from the faucet, so at least he's making an effort at cleaning after himself. When I spoke to him about it, he responded that it wasn't a big deal, and that he was doing his part to "save water." How do I handle this? Is he really saving water?
Dude, don't piss in someone else's sink without permission.
I would not respond very gently to this behavior in my house.
If he wants to save water just let the yellow mellow.
This week's Prudence had some interesting letters in it.
I like his comment that it wasn't a big deal. YES IT TOTALLY IS A BIG DEAL, YOU NEANDERTHAL. Gross gross gross. I would not react kindly to learning someone had been pissing in my sink, spousal unit or not.
My ex-wife was such a slob. Every time I went to take a piss in the kitchen sink, it was full of dirty dishes.
If you want to save water, that's what all those trees in the yard are for.
Geez. Some people.
As far as this Pakistan incident goes, we Americans do do a lot of stupid shit in war fueled by a sense fo moral superiority BUT - if YOU shoot FIRST (even mistakenly) you don't get to complain when we shoot back.
