Reason Writers at the Movies: Peter Suderman Reviews The Ides of March in The Washington Times
Associate Editor Peter Suderman reviews director George Clooney's new political thriller, "The Ides of March," in today's Washington Times:
George Clooney's new campaign-trail thriller, "The Ides of March," has a difficult, possibly disturbing message to impart. You may want to sit down before hearing what it has to say. Ready? Here goes:
Politicians, even the ones we adore the most, aren't the squeaky clean heroes we sometimes make them out to be.
The individuals in whom we invest our greatest hopes for political transformation - not naming any names here - are not always the shining catalysts of change many hoped they would be.
Also: Working in politics will make you cynical.
As you may have noticed, this is not really news. But "The Ides of March" seems convinced it is. A competent, well-acted and generally entertaining thriller, it is also a movie that's not nearly as smart about its subject - politics - as it thinks it is.

In other words, like every other George Clooney movie since Spy Kids?
I will admit, I did enjoy the Fantastic Mr Fox
My brother swears Klooney is not straight. It is funny b/c every time I hear a story about him - it fits.
That David Gergen story - yeah the two guys were swimming at 3am in their "skivies" - oh that George - he is such a "bachelor", LOL.
But he "dates" the beautiful women...
When Batman & Robin is discussed - He just says, "I rest my case"
....the handsome, dashing guy you can never quite take seriously.....
At least confirm for me that you and Loder sit together at the movies.
And that other frequent movie-goers sigh to themselves when they see you and say "great, here comes Loderman, again."
As you may have noticed, this is not really news.
It is to a lot of people. Stupid people who believe in HOPE and CHANGE, for instance.
"My brother swears Klooney is not straight"
-- Well, the only movies that I have every seen him in involved him going out of his way to get put into jail, or doing something strange while locked in a room with goats.
Your sights into the problem is so good and deep. It is so meaningful and positive!
I found a site where you can get coupons for restaurant called "Printapons" they are on all over the news, search online
Great review ! Thought like the author mentioned all the "secrets" that it uncovered aren't anything new to society.
