Plus, bin Laden's residence consumes electricity at a rate of about 12 times the average for a typical house in Abbottabad, compared to Bush's eco-friendly Crawford ranch.

    1. BigT   15 years ago

Much like algore's Nashville compound - high energy consumption, high security. Gore terrorizes civilization and tries to take us back to the 6th century.

    2. MNG   15 years ago

      OBL didn't clear brush?

      1. Untermensch   15 years ago

Apparently neither did Gore, at least in the elections?

        1. jacob   15 years ago

Burning the brush would have increased his carbon footprint.

How about a Friday depressing. Peanuts cartoons without the fourth and humorous panel. It is the most existentially devastating I have ever read.

    1. Madbiker   15 years ago

ouch. This runs up there with the Garfiel-sans-Garfield comics.

      1. John   15 years ago

The Garfield sans Garfield ones are brilliant and very disturbing.

        1. Bucky   15 years ago

          despair pervades all.
sounds like schools w/o chocolate milk...

    2. MrGuy   15 years ago

I would have chosen the word "inconsequential" or "boring".

  3. Pakistan Military   15 years ago

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    eh...I don't get it.

    1. Pakistan Taliban   15 years ago

Oh, you got it alright http://www.boston.com/news/wor....._pakistan/

I offer to your attention a film about six priorities of the generalized instruments of management by countries and people of Earth.

It's a good thing they never learned about the advances in explosives technology.

  8. J[o]h[nn]y L[o][n]gt[o]rs[o]   15 years ago

The cartoon is so dull it isn't even generating interesting snide remarks.

    1. WTF   15 years ago

However, ^this^ was actually an interesting snide remark.

    2. Fist of Etiquette   15 years ago

      Whatever.

  9. George V   15 years ago

I would have never known that the mailbox was a mailbox!

    1. Barely Suppressed Rage   15 years ago

      "Comment" --> Hardy freakin' har.

  10. some guy   15 years ago

Does '666' mean anything in the Muslim world, or is Payne just being Christocentric?

Also, I don't think "Friday Funnies" means what Reason thinks it means...

    1. Platypus   15 years ago

This is the most salient point, really. I always thought that was part of the joke; that 'funny' was being used in a sardonic sense... like describing Two And a Half Men as a situation-comedy.

    2. Mongo   15 years ago

Payne is completely unaware that Osama worships the same God that he does.

  11. Mike M.   15 years ago

I want to know who Osama was mailing a letter to.

  12. rather   15 years ago

You forgot to draw the Pakistani military officials knocking at Osama's door welcoming their new neighbors with Shahi tokray and Lassi

  13. anarch   15 years ago

All that writing should have been in Urdu.

      *Has a DD Form 214
*Can quote (at least paraphrase) the Constitution

      1. sarcasmic   15 years ago

Only constitutional lawyers are qualified to interpret the Constitution.

Without sufficient training in nuance someone might think "Congress shall make no law" means "Congress shall make no law", or "shall not be infringed" means "shall not be infringed".

Those words do not limit government.
        They empower government!

"Congress shall make no law" authorizes Congress to make laws.

"Shall not be infringed" authorizes Congress to infringe.

Only domestic terrorists think words actually mean what they say.

        1. jacob   15 years ago

  22. emerson   15 years ago

Seriously Reason, what does Henry Payne have on you?

    1. Dept O   15 years ago

      +1

  23. LB   15 years ago

The comic would be pretty funny without the labels. Just a barbed wire, bomb-laden (heh) building with a blank residential mailbox in front.

    1. Dylboz   15 years ago

Yes, I too despise the editorial cartoonist's obsession with labeling the obvious. I work with one, I'm going to go ask him if they have a rule about it somewhere.

  24. For trash-burning alone...   15 years ago

    ...he deserved what he got!

  25. Dept O   15 years ago

I... I hate friday funnies. Not only are they barely ever the most current works of the cartoonist, but they're certainly the dullest. Fuck, i would take the stupid dog cartoon that's on HP's blog today over more OBL garbage!

Reason! You could find someone to do stick figure drawings that are more pointed, current and funny than this Glenn Beck trash humor!

For christ-steaks! The fucking cars have over sized cartoon bombs on them AND he has to point out what they are! Why? Probably because they don't look like cars!

    Exclamation points! One! Exclamation points!

    1. TRTB   15 years ago

The Friday Funnies aren't about the cartoons. They are about the comments on the cartoons. Having good cartoons would actually diminish the overall entertainment value.

      1. Comments are ALWAYS better...   15 years ago

This is what keeps me coming back. If you want actual funny in the main dish, go elsewhere.

  26. Dept O   15 years ago

Aww, thanks for your genuine concern. i agree, it would be less fun in here, that's why i'll tell you a secret.

( I'm not really the over-reaction guy in real life, i just play one on reason message boards. )

    1. Dept O   15 years ago

This is not me ^ 🙁

  27. Kuwanki   15 years ago

Hate to say it, but Tony is funnier than this.

  28. Almanian   15 years ago

I was tied up Friday in meetings - did I miss anything?

    *looks around*

    Nope.

PS If I were sage, and I actually read this on Friday, I'd have said:

    HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  29. jermana   14 years ago

    1080p porn downlaod
