Keep Weapons Concealed
Christopher Dashner, 17, was on a trip with the Blissfield, Ohio, high school band, when he discovered he had a pocket knife in his backpack that he'd left there after a camping trip. He turned it over to a parent chaperone, who turned it over to the band director. And that was the end of it. No, not really. After the trip, school officials suspended Dashner for 45 days. After local media reported what had happened, the school board reduced the suspension to 10 days, but that still caused Dashner to miss the prom and another band trip.
