For some more perspective, here's a story from earlier this week, about Gov. Lardass' penchant for high living on the public trough.
STEVE SMITH LOVE RAPE FAT BOYS! MAKE SQUEAL LIKE PIG!
Lard ass? Really? Wow. Just wow.
I hadn't heard that one.
Me neither.
As an ectomorph currently struggling to gain weight, I have a newfound sympathy for people who are overweight. Adjusting your food intake outside of what your body wants is actually pretty damn hard.
GOMAD will solve your problems.
Just beware of milk alkali syndrome.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milk-alkali_syndrome
Don't believe the cholesterol myths: saturated fat is healthy
I'd rather eat 50 pieces of bacon than drink even a pint of milk.
SF is also important for T levels.
Since I began operation "eat till you want to puke everyday" last week I'm already up 4 lbs. I'm definitely going to add more whole milk into the mix after reading that. I already go through 2 gallons in a week by myself.
Um, make sure you do the lifting weights part. That's kind of the important part.
Been doing that part for like 3 years, and been plateaud at my current weight for 1 of those. Last time I measured my body fat it was 5.5%
Somehow I'm jealous and sympathetic at the same time. I'd kill to be skinny (only a politician though), but I know how goddamn hard it is to change your body if you don't like it.
Steve,
I can't find any full body pics, but your headshot makes you look a little chunky yourself. Glass house much?
Christie was unethical in overcharging. I expect better. I'm also disappointed in the bureaucracy for approving the charges. Having traveled on the government dime as a military contractor, I get every damn penny counted, and that's just the way I like it.
I doubt I'd vote for Governor big britches (but not ass big as mine), but I'm not going to get excited over $2Gs - approximately a 10% performance over budget at a guess.
uh, he did not overcharge, he allegedly exceeded guidelines on occastion
$2000 total / 6 years as AG = 91 cents a day
that's some high livin', lou
"While the total cost of what was charged over the federal government's allowed maximum appears to equate only a couple thousand dollars..."
Well, that settles it - Christie has no right to try to reign in the billions of dollars pissed away on the public employee unions.
I was just thinking the same thing. In related news, Democrats can suck as hard as they want and so long as there's a Republican somewhere who sucks even harder we can't call them out for it.
I was just going to say, I thought I read this morning that we're only talking about something like $2,100. I mean on principle no one likes a hypocrite, but let's have a little perspective here shall we?
That's $2,100 over the course of six years.
So Diamond Chris Christie blew through his expense budget cap by an average of 96 cents a day? String him up.
+1
Proving once again, Yeti lawyers make for bad accountants.
The Christie camp contends that he only overspent the Federal guidelines when there were no other rooms available - a plausible explanation for his *horrific* abuses.
As someone who has to travel somewhat often with work and deal with similar policies. I find that part hard to believe. Partly because he didn't put it as the reason in the exception report. Mostly I find it hard to believe because this was in DC and Boston, which have tons of hotel rooms. Usually if you have to go over policy, you're not booking rooms at the Ritz. If the Ritz is in policy, on the other hand...
The Federal guidelines for hotel rooms (in DC) as of this moment are $181.00 per night. The per diem reimbursement rate for food and incidentals for Washington, DC is $71/day.
Try finding a decent room in DC for less than $250.
Just went to hotels.com and looked for 4 star hotels and here's what I found:
The Mayflower Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel - $179
Westin Washington DC - $103
Hotel Monaco Washington DC - a Kimpton Hotel - $159
Donovan House - $109
The Madison Hotel - a Loews Hotel - $189 ($8 above reimbursement)
That took me about 5 seconds and doesn't take into account corporate/government discounts. The 3 star hotels, which include shitholes like the Capital Hilton, the Rennaisance, the Grand Hyatt and The Eldon Luxury Suites ranged from $99 - $149.

You do realize it's not exactly high season right now, right?
The tourist specials online during low season are often cheaper than the government or corporate discount rates. Despite this, I've worked at places that forbade us from booking them, because they needed to guarantee volume at the negotiated rates in order to get those rates.
when i was in government, we were not allowed to book through discount places like hotels.com, we had to go through officially approved travel agencies
unsurprisingly, this resulted in much higher costs
Christie rocks -- when is he gonna run for president?
I was sad to hear he's pushing for some Jersey cap'n trade bill though.
Yikes. why?
I love that one of the related videos is some guy shooting a 1911 chambered in .38 super. Is Youtube trying to tell us to do something?
Drivin around at night, with guns Toki? Guns are, well guns are cool. Wait, what was I trying to say here?
That was a really lame porno. I don't even have a semi.
I love Obama's imperial palace guard going after Christie's expense account.
Score another for the fat guy!
We still need Christie in New Jersey. Besides, too many voters in the presidential election will not vote for a fat guy based on appearance alone.
That's probably true, and just like people insist that Mitch Daniels has no shot because he's 5'7". (Still taller than me, though.)
Remember Bloomberg's response when someone asked him if he would ever run for President? He said, "America would never elect a 5'6" Jewish billionaire from NY".
I'd be happy to, provided he wasn't a snuggle-puppy Stalinist like Mike Bloomberg.
Mitch Daniels height is more exaggerated than a QB draft prospect. There's no way he's taller than 5'5".
Unfortunately, that still only makes him my height.
Wow! A republican who fights for his core beliefs AFTER he has been elected.
But before he's in office. That's a pretty big distinction.
Christie's been in office since the beginning of this year. He was elected in 2009.
My bad, don't follow Jersey much.
Christie has been in office since January. He won an election that took place LAST year.
Damn you and your quick typing, MK!
* shakes fist *
I couldn't see the teleprompter in these camera angles. It was almost like he was speaking from those flat white things on the podium.
Thus proving that he is a racist.
ziiiiiiing
Yeah. He was checking the cards while listing a series of 6 digit salary numbers. Wow, what a crutch.
This is exactly what needs to happen everywhere. Like-minded politicians need to burn some bridges, declare flat out war on the thieves. We're not talking about delaying 3% raises anymore, we're talking about wage cuts and wholescale elimination of departments. There cannot be compromise or retreat on fiscal issues any longer, we cannot afford it.
Yes. And going after bureaucrats who make 100K+ is smart politics: force Democrats to defend paper-pushers making far more than the average voter.
Agreed. I love how Christie calls out Lee Sites (sp?) personally. Christie is redefining political leadership. I know many here probably hate him for one reason or another (libertarian creed: "He's not perfect, therefore he's an affront to all humanity."), but he's the closest thing I have to an idol in politics.
or even the teachers!
God bless this man. Anyone who calls out superintendent salaries is a saint. Seriously, I along with many others could a) do that job in my sleep and b) do it for less money.
There is no need for any school administrator above the level of Principal.
I'm not even sure principals are necessary. The school secretary could probably get the job done with the help of a few ass kissing students.
I say this after discussing boy's three day suspension for one defensive punch with his useless principle this morning. All he did was pull out the rule book and say my beef was with the school board. I told him I vote against them every chance I get.
Sounds like the Principal was looking to be the recipient of an offensive punch. Bureaucratic tool.
You can stop with "there is no need for any school administrator" and then follow it up with "there is no need for any *public* school anyway"
A guy who says what he's going to do and then does what he says.
How'd he get past the RNC pashas?
Most stupid policies are popular, at least in the short run. Occasionally there's a big enough crisis that big changes are popular, or you get a governor who is willing to push through complex bargains or changes that are short-term unpopular but long-term popular. Got to do that stuff at the beginning of your term, though, like Christie or Daniels.
So much like.
Chris Christie: the good conservative.
