Reason Writers in the News: Coverage of Radley Balko's Speech in Columbia, Missouri
Reason Senior Editor Radley Balko recently spoke at the Missouri State NORML conference in Columbia, Missouri. Columbia is the site of a February marijuana raid on Jonahthan Whitworth and his family. Video of that raid, in which police shot and killed Whitworth's dog, went viral in May, garnering well over a million view on YouTube. Whitworth was charged with a misdemeanor for possession of a marijuana pipe.
Balko's speech was covered by the Columbia Tribune and the Columbia Missourian. Local NBC affiliate KOMU also aired a story on the conference and Balko's speech, which you can watch here.

Jesus tits, from that KOMU clip I only counted about a dozen in attendance. Considering it was on a college campus, that's pretty disappointing.
I was in Columbia when it was held there but due to my busy and messy schdule I couldn't get there but reading about it here was great knowledge.
