Facebook, Twitter, Delicious, Google Reader, Tumblr, and Pinboard

I don't use any of those things. Is that so wrong?

    1. Fist of Etiquette   15 years ago

You should just give it up and turn into oil already.

      1. Dinosaur 1.0   15 years ago

But the cool kids would still despise me!

        1. Lefty4Life   15 years ago

The cool kids are fat. Which you'd know if you used any of those things.

          1. Dinosaur 1.0   15 years ago

Last week I ran over a fat kid in my '93 Escort.
I thought he was using a PlayStation!

    2. Rhywun   15 years ago

I scoff at most of that junk, except Google Reader - which is seriously useful even for non-teens like myself.

  2. A.G. Pym   15 years ago

I thought that the main request was to allow commenting?

    1. wylie   15 years ago

Reason has to cater first to the hordes of hip teens. You'll get your comment feature once their whims have been addressed.

    2. T   15 years ago

All of us want commenting, but the larger readership doesn't want to be subjected to us.

  3. Some Fanboy   15 years ago

    No Ipad?

    l8ser

    1. Leo   15 years ago

You just don't need it for iPad - get yourself Flipboard app and read Reason Twitter feed in it. I do so.

  4. Charlotte Web   15 years ago

Wow, now thats cool! Quite an accomplishment.

    http://www.isp-logs.es.tc

  5. Hugh Akston   15 years ago

Until the app allows commenting on threads (not threaded comments), consider me unimpressed.

Also, add a "I'm canceling my subscription!" button.

    1. Clich? Bandit   15 years ago

Don't forget the automatic "DRINK!" and the "STFU Lonewacko" features.

      1. wylie   15 years ago

Actually, i think it would be great if the comment software read the comments and detected "DRINK!"s, accompanied by an official Reason comment to the effect. Just have it search for the words "reason" and "Postrel".

    2. Mike Laursen   15 years ago

Commenting, for sure. And fix the bug where the app crashes when you follow a link to Safari.

  6. BingBong   15 years ago

    Looks cool!
    How about some Android love?

    1. justjosh42   15 years ago

    2. Corduroy   15 years ago

Get on the Android soul train

  7. PantsFan   15 years ago

    Flugenweb?
    Assmode?

    1. Coke Zero   15 years ago

      As I recall, it's Ass M?de.

  8. Pro Libertate   15 years ago

My Blackberry and I say "screw off."

    1. wylie   15 years ago

And the pair of you say it over Skype, to boot.

      1. Pro Libertate   15 years ago

It's a work gadget, so I have many bells and whistles. But Hit & Run is weak. Weak!

Actually, I don't use the web app much. Too slow, and the screen is too small.

  9. Rhayader   15 years ago

    Ask and ye shall receive.

Unless ye want an Android app.

  10. capitol l   15 years ago

How about a feature that allows users to shout their comments at the computer screen?

Then when reading others' comments you would scroll down hearing the screams, yells, protestations, lamentations, groans of misery/gratification, and obscenity strewn invectives of your fellow posters.

    Also, blinky tags.

But, nooooo...we have some useless shit called "twitter", fucking hell.

Go tweet me a beer, bitch.

    1. wylie   15 years ago

Go tweet me a beer, bitch.

Hold up, it can do that? I might have to rethink my twitter position.

    2. Pro Libertate   15 years ago

Yes, Hit & Run was briefly on the cutting edge of providing commenters with high-tech blog-commenting tools. The cutting edge. No longer.

      1. capitol l   15 years ago

You cannot deny that "scream tags" would be frikkin awesome!

        < a style= anger" * " important!!1! < /a >

        *scream into your microphone

  11. Mike Laursen   15 years ago

And ... nothing to do with the iPhone app ... why the hell does Hit & Run hide comments by default (especially stupid is that it hides them all after downloading all of them).

    Why? Why? Why? Fix it!

  12. TheZeitgeist   15 years ago

I thought Reason was about openness and individual strivings. So what's with all the focus on digital Sweden with the swank iJunk?

    Where's the Android app, yo?

    1. Pro Libertate   15 years ago

Yeah, Apple is the icon of the socialist oppressor. Even back when they did that 1984-themed commercial, I was thinking that they had the whole thing ass-backward.

      1. TheZeitgeist   15 years ago

In my dark days of being a AutoCAD shyster, my old boss (who grew up in Cold War Czechoslovakia) used to say that Apple was like Sweden, socialism done right. Microsoft was like the Soviet Union, they did socialism wrong. But no matter, you could look at a map and see who was gonna win in a war and it wasn't Sweden.

He also said Linux was like freedom. You could do what you wanted, and it was based on UNIX, which ironically all the socialists of one stripe or another constantly ripped off or imitated. I always liked his analogies that way.

        1. Pro Libertate   15 years ago

I agree about Linux, the OS of freedom. However, I think Microsoft, for all of its occasionally evil ways, is far less evil than a dominant Apple would've been. Jobs has the soul of Stalin.

          1. 80sfan   15 years ago

Jobs is the one true capitalist left in this world, and is somewhat different than Josef Stalin

    2. Rhayader   15 years ago

Seriously -- Android is about as libertarian as mobile operating systems get. Reason has some confusing meta-messaging going on here.

      1. Pro Libertate   15 years ago

        Danged cosmoliberaltarians.

  13. bags   15 years ago

Hold up, it can do that? I might have to rethink my twitter position.

  14. fendibags   15 years ago

    I say "screw off."

  15. scarf   15 years ago

Unless ye want an Android app.

  16. Jeff P   15 years ago

I want a patented Gillespie leather cozy for my iPhone.

  17. Richard   15 years ago

There's no way to read or post comments, but thank heavens for that "secure donations" feature! Yes, many's the time I've been sitting in a waiting room with my iPhone thinking, Hmmm, if only there was a secure way to donate to Reason right now....

  18. kilroy   15 years ago

    'TERENCE, this is stupid stuff:...

  19. nick_g   15 years ago

    Give us ANDROID!

  20. hurly buehrle   15 years ago

As a new Evo owner, yes, please give us an Android app.

  21. Franklin Harris   15 years ago

Well. Several people seem to have stolen my thunder, so I guess I'll have to crank up the rhetoric.

    Android, damnit. You cheap bastards!

  22. 80sfan   15 years ago

I'm very interested in Reason.com so I downloaded the app. Never heard of "Pinboard" but that's good to know. Using the search on my phone, I found the ideal political party for all Reason.com tribes merely by entering "Libertarianism, Sovereignty, Paleoconservatism, Conservatism, Independence" term into it; does require you to up your ZIP code by a little bit, however

  23. KennyGT   15 years ago

No Android app? Just refer to this link: http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.co.....-products/

  24. Lance   15 years ago

I just came across an NPR app for Android... You mean to tell me they are better prepared than Reason? Socialism wins?
