Wow. His ears are even bigger than last weeks.

    1. Jen   15 years ago

A fun game would be to track his sinking approval ratings and see if there's a correlation with his growing ears...okay, maybe "fun" wasn't the right word. Just more entertaining than this comic.

The whispers in the hall never bother her at all,
Or the laughter from the boys in the gymnasium,
Fraulein Mueller is alarmed at the scratches on her arm,
And the German homework is late again, oh no,

    She's a Sleestak!

The neighbors are concerned about the bruises and the burns,
And the seaweed smell that comes in from the rain,
And there's something wrong with the Johnson's lawn,
Someone says "Honey, have you seen the cats today?"

    She's a Sleestak!

  8. Tim   15 years ago

Tom Hagen would have handled it much better.

    1. ?   15 years ago

Indeed, he would have arranged to have a horse's head put in Issa's bed.

  14. Fist of Etiquette   15 years ago

I just realized that's not the butler. It's Rahm Emanuel.

So this doesn't make sense. Shouldn't it be Emanuel telling Obama what they're going to do?

    1. ?   15 years ago

It's a pretty good characture of Emanuel.

So since Biden is someone who can't figure out how to tie his own shoes Emanuel has little choice but fill the role of Obama's Cheney? Or is it that Rahm Israel Emanuel tells Obama what to do because, well, he's Israel?

      1. Fist of Etiquette   15 years ago

At the risk of sounding harsh, before taking the oath a year ago January, Obama hadn't governed a day in his life, and I'm not convinced he's done all that much since. He previously just basically existed in the the various legislatures, being ushered to where the powers wanted him.

Emanuel, on the other hand, is a doer. He's handled the politics of Congressional races since before moving to the Executive. Deals such as this are squarely in his wheelhouse.

I am totally baffled about why the Sestak episode is even interesting. Isn't this just party politics as she is played? Didn't Abraham Lincoln do a lot of this? What, pray tell, is the big deal?

    1. Shadow   15 years ago

if Abraham Lincoln did it I think most people here would be against it.

Sometimes I sound like I'm arguing, when I'm actually not. I just have a way of putting my posts stronger than intended. It's easier to keep out of the conversation and not take the chance of being misunderstood.

During oral arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, which ruled that several aspects of the "material support" ban are unconstitutional, the government's lawyer said you could go to prison for filing a friend-of-the-court brief on behalf of a listed group, for pressing its case at the U.N., or even for asking Congress to take the group off the list. "Congress wants these organizations to be radioactive," he explained.
