  2. Jaybird   16 years ago

It was when I discovered Left Behind slash that I knew that everything was going to be okay.

    1. Lucy   16 years ago

God does love us. But I'm still not googling that or clicking above.

  3. ed   16 years ago

I'm not quick to click the chick fic.

    1. Warty   16 years ago

Not a stickler for the tickler?

      1. ed   16 years ago

OK, I looked. Still not sure why anyone would take the time to write something like this, let alone read it, but I'm a blockhead. Eight corners. 90-degree angles.

  4. Lonely D and D Chick   16 years ago

Awwww ed, you'd fuck me. You'll have to roll a d20 though. Did I mention I have the Taint of Bliss +20?

    1. Brian Sorgatz   16 years ago

Haven't I seen you in a dating service ad on MySpace? Aren't you the one in glasses and a T-shirt, with your back arched and chest thrust out?

      1. Brian Sorgatz   16 years ago

Is this you? Are you Janeane Garofalo's hot little sister?

        1. Lonely D and D Chick   16 years ago

I'm hotter than that dude! Aren't you that guy that writes that creepy blog about your mommy issues?

          1. Brian Sorgatz   16 years ago

I write the words that come out. I'm just a messenger.

            1. Shelby   16 years ago

That is so shallow, it's almost deep.

  5. ed   16 years ago

Wow. I have my very own troll-stalker! I'm not worthy!

  6. Groovus Maximus   16 years ago

    1. robc   16 years ago

What I was going to say.

And to be honest, nothing else needs to be said about this.

  8. NOU   16 years ago

I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL THIS IS AND IT MAKES ME ANGRY. Please explain.

    1. Brian Sorgatz   16 years ago

"Slash fiction" is sexualized fan fiction based on characters invented by someone else. Jack T. Chick publishes comic books espousing a macabre, paranoid, fire-and-brimstone version of Christianity. First, follow the "You know this story" link to read the Chick comic. Then the fan fiction will make sense as a parody.

  9. AT   16 years ago

    I still don't get it....

    1. SIV   16 years ago

      You have to click on
      You know this story.
and read the comic first. In fact, just read the comic and know the text is just an amateurish story based on the characters.

      1. zoltan   16 years ago

        That is some weird shit.

      2. PIRS   16 years ago

I played D&D and the funny thing is that noone I knew commited suicide, killed anyone or thought it was anything but a fun game.

        1. Ghost of Schr?dinger's cat   16 years ago

you were probably doing it wrong.

  10. Privacy Spambot   16 years ago

    Pan with Us

Pan came out of the woods one day,--
His skin and his hair and his eyes were gray,
The gray of the moss of walls were they,--
And stood in the sun and looked his fill
At wooded valley and wooded hill.

He stood in the zephyr, pipes in hand,
    On a height of naked pasture land;
In all the country he did command
He saw no smoke and he saw no roof.
That was well! and he stamped a hoof.

His heart knew peace, for none came here
To this lean feeding save once a year
Someone to salt the half-wild steer,
Or homespun children with clicking pails
Who see so little they tell no tales.

He tossed his pipes, too hard to teach
A new-world song, far out of reach,
For sylvan sign that the blue jay's screech
And the whimper of hawks beside the sun
Were music enough for him, for one.

Times were changed from what they were:
Such pipes kept less of power to stir
The fruited bough of the juniper
And the fragile bluets clustered there
Than the merest aimless breath of air.

They were pipes of pagan mirth,
And the world had found new terms of worth.
He laid him down on the sun-burned earth
And raveled a flower and looked away--
    Play? Play?--What should he play?

  13. OGRE   16 years ago

Not bad. But the Les-yay was just glossed over; it should have been front and center.

  14. Kant feel Pietzsche   16 years ago

Someone owes me for several minutues of my life. Who do I see about that?

    1. .   16 years ago

      That would be Mr. Walker.

  15. Episiarch   16 years ago

THIS IS THE GREATEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN.

  16. Charles   16 years ago

I really like this, so this isn't a criticism, but I really miss Weigel and his weekend politics open threads.

  17. Warty   16 years ago

I guess this is the weekend open thread, so: more proof that prosecutors are evil scum.

US customs agents found a dirty DVD called Little Lupe the Innocent in his bags as he passed through San Juan Airport security in Puerto Rico on his way back to New York.

The agents said the actress in the video, porn star Lupe Fuentes, was underage, and they arrested him.

But Mr Simon-Timmerman was sprung earlier this month after Ms Fuentes flew to Puerto Rico and proved in court that she was 19 at the time the film was made.

This is especially galling, because it would have taken 10 fucking seconds to google Little Lupe and see that she's a fairly famous porn star, and not fucking underage. But I guess it was easier to almost falsely convict some poor bastard for child porn. Jesus fuck.

    1. Warty   16 years ago

      Better, but NSFW, article

      1. peachy   16 years ago

I guess the next "federal employees busted for watching porn on the job" story won't involve the PR DA's office.

    2. SIV   16 years ago

ICE could've easily checked it out with the SEC.

    3. John C. Randolph   16 years ago

I think those douchebags knew she was legal, but they just wanted to make her show up and sign some autographs.

      -jcr

  18. heller   16 years ago

    Ummm, no.

  19. Prosecutor   16 years ago

she was 19 at the time the film was made

Irrelevant. The question, Mister Second-Guess-the-Law, is how old was she at the time of the arrest.

    You guys...

  20. Jaime Kelly   16 years ago

I have to say that when I was a teenager, those Jack T. Chick tracts were almost like tar heroin. Fucking brilliant shit. Addictive in their simplistic, checkerboard world view.
Now that I'm a recovering alcoholic and Presbyterian, I look back on them with humorous nostalgia. No matter what, I was going to believe in God and love to get fucked up.
Thanks, Jack T. Chick. You're a fucking wizard.

    1. heller   16 years ago

Jack Chick is a stark raving mad lunatic who can draw.

  21. P Brooks   16 years ago

I guess if I knew who or what Jack Chick actually *is* I might be more interested.

    Or not.

    1. .   16 years ago

  22. wingnutx   16 years ago

Jack Chick pamphlets make great fliers for punk rock shows.

    1. Tattooed Love Boy   16 years ago

      This makes sense.

  23. GILMORE   16 years ago

I have tried twice now, and still dont get it.

I think I must have stopped being hip like 5 years ago.

    1. Jack Chick/Slash Fic   16 years ago

      It's not you. It's me.

  24. barfman's cousin   16 years ago

    *barf*

  25. Kevin Carson   16 years ago

Well! I guess you know if something like this had appeared in Ron Paul's newsletter twenty years ago, he'd be crucified for it.

  26. SugarFree   16 years ago

    Meh. Not enough fucking.
