Reason Writers Around Town: Jesse Walker in the Utne Reader on the Paranoid Center
An abridged version of Managing Editor Jesse Walker's Reason article "The Paranoid Center" appears in the January/February 2010 issue of the Utne Reader. (To read the full-length version of the piece, go here.) The essay appears as part of a package on right-wing violence, where it serves as a counterpoint to a report from the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Utne reader? I haven't seen that in ages. Congratulations Jesse! Need to find a copy at my bookstore.
Utne reader?
Isn't tha kind of like Harper's for slow learners? They publish Reader's Digest-style "condensed" articles with the big words removed.*
*I'm dead serious, that was my impression the only time I read a few issues.
Dunno about taking out the big words (in my case, they left in "millenarians"), but yes, they're sort of a Reader's Digest of the alternative press.
I thought the Utne Reader was the "classy" version of Juggs.
LOL!
