Are you saying Bill Ayers has been snubbed?

    1. John Tagliaferro   16 years ago

      LOL, love that one.

  2. Pro Libertate   16 years ago

What! If America doesn't get the sweep, then Europe will pay!

  3. Atabrat   16 years ago

    Rascists! (And Rascist!)

The nobel committee hates us for our freedom.

  6. affenkopf   16 years ago

    German not Romanian.

  7. Isaac Bartram   16 years ago

I understand that she is ethnically German but a Romanian national.

I understand that as an ethnic German she is automatically entitled to German citizenship but I could be completely mistaken.

    1. joshua corning   16 years ago

Wouldn't that mean something like 50 million Americans are eligible for German citizenship?

  8. affenkopf   16 years ago

She has German citizenship, lives in Germany since the 80s and writes in German.

    1. Jesse Walker   16 years ago

      She was born in Romania.

I could say more but, in the words of E.B. White, "Analyzing humor is like dissecting a frog. Few people are interested and the frog dies of it."

      1. affenkopf   16 years ago

I'm German, what is this 'humor' thing you are talking about?

  9. ? (fifty)   16 years ago

Yo mama ain't name you no "Halld?r Laxness."

  10. JB   16 years ago

Screw this German/Romanian whatever if she accepts the award.

Anyone who accepts any Nobel is now a retarded fetus.

    1. affenkopf   16 years ago

      Including Hayek and Friedman?

      1. affenkopf   16 years ago

        Sorry, missed the 'now'.

      2. affenkopf   16 years ago

        Sorry, missed the 'now'.

      3. Malvolio   16 years ago

Hayek and Friedman were economists and despite what you may have heard, there is no Nobel Prize in Economics. There is a Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, which is completely different. It's awarded, as the name implies, by the Sveriges Riksbank (Swedish Government Bank) not the various academies to blame for the Nobels.

  11. J sub D   16 years ago

    Love the headline.

  12. Morris   16 years ago

Who cares what a bunch of enslaved Norwegian serfs think?

  13. JE   16 years ago

That might be a slightly extreme stance, many of the Nobel prizes for science recognize actual accomplishment and achievement.

  14. Episiarch   16 years ago

I understand that as an ethnic German she is automatically entitled to German citizenship but I could be completely mistaken.

I'm ethnically German; where's my EU passport? I'm pretty sure that only the Irish give "ethnic" citizenship out.

    1. alan   16 years ago

I make a mean Apple and Jalapeno Strudel.

  15. Aaron   16 years ago

It would have been more fitting if they had given it to El Presidente.

Since the Nobel Peace Prize is now just a token political maneuver, it would have been more poignant if they had given it to Obama so he could join the ranks of other chronic liars like Al Gore.

    1. hawk30   16 years ago

      Watch the news much?

  16. Xeones   16 years ago

Since the Nobel Peace Prize is now just a token political maneuver

    Fixed.

  17. Mike Laursen   16 years ago

I'm wondering if Hillary is feeling snubbed. She's the freegin' Secretary of State, not Obama.

    1. alan   16 years ago

mum asked that very question (She a big Hil fan), 'where's Hllary's'.

You know, if accomplishments don't matter for this prize should we not all get one? Is it fair to leave anyone out? That is like keeping score.

  18. R C Dean   16 years ago

Hillary, hell, I bet Bill is frothing today.

  19. Isaac Bartram   16 years ago

Hillary, hell, I bet Bill is frothing today.

C'mon, Bill was never qualified, either.

You're supposed to get the award for making peace, not getting a piece.

  20. adina   16 years ago

Medicine and Physiology should have gone to Michelle. Have you seen that vegetable garden?
