I am arguably the laziest, most unproductive poster on this site. That said, I WANT THOSE FOUR MINUTES BACK!

  2. Amy Alkon   16 years ago

Matt, I thought that headline of yours had to be an traffic-whoring exaggeration. Horrifyingly, it's not.

  3. John   16 years ago

I am blocked. What is the video?

  4. brotherben   16 years ago

John, political humour based on the comedic stylings of the love child of Al Franken and Ann Coulter.

"I am blocked. What is the video?"

Same here. Is it about McCain?

I don't get it. I mean, it wasn't brilliant or scintillating, but it wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen on YouTube, not by a long shot. Although the humor was a bit lame, the colorfully attired hosts did seem to pick on both parties (almost) equally and actually came close to scoring a few good "gotchas." Close, I said.

As on IMDB.com, it's probably time to stop with the "worst ever" claims, since the shelf life for that award is about a minute these days. The term is rather more of an apercu than a reasoned judgment, "reasoned judgments" having been rendered near impossible by 30-second deadlines and 140-character message limits.

That said, I certainly didn't bookmark the page. Say, did you see my bumper sticker from 1999 (of course you didn't) about the bogus millennium scares? I actually spotted one of the 1000 I distributed at a loss 10+ years ago, on the side of an abandoned refrigerator in Burbank, California, which made me think of it for the first time in quite a while. This was my take on the whole thing:

    Y2K?

    4Q2!

I am through now. I promise not to mention it again. If you don't object to my telling you what kind of day to have, have a good one!

I was going to say that it was bad, but that I'd seen worse when I thought it was the work of a couple of dateless political wonks. Then I realized it was from the Washington Post--who to be fair may also qualify as dateless political wonks. This sort of effective use of the Internet will have the newspaper media back on top before you know it.

What's really funny is that these guys make three times as much as Matt does, plus they have corner offices and they get their phone calls returned.

  9. Nicole Hamilton   16 years ago

In case you haven't spotted it yet, there's an interesting video response already posted:

    yeah, it's pretty weak.

OTOH, I find Al Franken and Jon Stewart funny.

Where The Washington Post fails, Marta Costello of The Gnooze succeeds. Take that, ailing newspaper industry!
