Attn. D.C. Area Reasonoids: Happy Hour, Thursday, May 21, 6.30 p.m. at The Big Hunt!
Please join Reason Magazine's D.C.-based staff for a happy hour this Thursday, May 21 at The Big Hunt in Dupont Circle, starting at 6.30 pm.
While we enjoy the spring weather on The Big Hunt's rooftop deck, we'll be celebrating:
-The release of our June issue, featuring Science Correspondent Ronald Bailey's comprehensive cover story on the Obama administration's positively Carteresque support for alternative energy subsidies. Bailey will be on hand to discuss kilowatt hours and the like.
-Reason being named a seven-time finalist in the L.A. Press Club's 51st annual Southern California Journalism Awards, beating all other California mags like a gong.
Special guests will include Reason Contributing Editor Kerry Howley, in town from corn country where she's pursuing an M.F.A. in creative nonfiction at the University of Iowa.
The Big Hunt is located at 1345 Connecticut Ave. NW, a block south of Dupont Circle. The fun starts at 6.30 pm and ends when you say so. We'll be in the upstairs bar enjoying $3 pints, on special throughout the night.
Hope to see you there!

The Big Hunt
Wow, a momentary wavelet of nostalgia just washed over me.
Of course while this may be the last weekend of tolerable weather in DC, it is just another beautiful weekend on the Lower Left Coast.
To cut the monotony of the situation and make something different and exciting, the leader must take necessary actions. Subordinates sometimes conduct unwanted incidents due to the irritation they feel. Joe Biden has made Dick Cheney look good. Joe Biden has now achieved what was once thought to be impossible, by his leaking the location of the Biden bunker. The Biden Bunker is the secure location that the Vice President goes to in the event of a terrorist attack or other disaster. We now know the Biden Bunker is at the U.S. Naval Observatory. Many would give cash loans to get Joe Biden to clam up from now on. He gave this all away at an appearance at the Gridiron Club. (Was an open bar a factor?) Perhaps Joe Biden could get some lessons on restraint with the help of a cash loan.
