Nick Gillespie on Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld
On President's Day (Monday, February 16, 2009), Reason.tv's Nick Gillespie appeared on Fox News Channel's irreverent late-night show, Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld, to discuss the legacy of William Henry Harrison, the dreaded "octo-mom," Barack Obama, and other pressing topics of the day.
Approximately 50 minutes.

Do they call it Red Eye because it's on so late, or because you have to be stoned to watch it?
Or because it makes your eyes bleed?
I bet you two don't even own leather jackets.
It makes me think of HAL-9000.

Hear me now and believe me later.
Only fuck-wits appear on Red Eye.
Red Eye has become my favorite "news" talk show.

Well that was a complete waste of time and 50 minutes of my (and Nick's) life neither of us will ever get back. Please Nick, stick to ReasonTV.com. The issue here is CONTENT CONTROL!
Any interview is a good one as long as they pronounce your name right. Oh, wait...
I think there's a typo in this post. Mr. Gillespie typed "irreverent" when, clearly, Fox News' Red Eye is "irrelevant."
I enjoy Red Eye.
I'm a big Red Eye fan as well. I particularly like Andy Levy.
If snark was Viagra, I'd pop Reason commenters all night long.
I understand the need to spread the Reason brand on all available venues, but, seriously, how long does it take to wash the stink of that show off after appearing on it?
Is Nick Gillespie Lou Reed?
I'd post a longer comment, but I'm afraid Nick will jump in and interrupt me.
Do they call it Red Eye because it's on so late, or because you have to be stoned to watch it?
Yes.
Nick Jillespie???
I'm glad to see Gillespie praising Harrison after his being dissed in the polls. I'm considering starting a "William Henry Harrison Society". Our motto will be: "Sic Semper Tyrannus". Of course, we will readily admit that his Henry Clay-inspired politics were not great- but his career was exemplary!
But Obama's foreign policy is "no more fighting"? Are you folks mental? It is more of the same. No hope, no change there! Check our anti-war.com on how miserably status-quo (warmongering, that is) the Obama administration is.
I think Red Eye's pretty entertaining but let's face it; the Reasonites are doing Gutfeld a major favor by showing up as often as they do. Nick's wit--and hot leather jacket-- is totally wasted on a bunch of stoners at 3 am; he should be annihilating Jon Stewart, whose demographic cries out for the libertarian message (yet never hears it preached).
THE URKOBOLD'S MINION WOULD LIKE TO POLITELY OBSERVE THAT NICK GILLESPIE IS CORRECTLY LABELED "HOT ITEM".
Red Eye is a comedy show, and Gillespie always kinda bombs on it.
Reason and Red Eye are two different things that are good apart but shouldn't be mixed.
I like vodka, and I like beer, but I don't like vodka in my beer.
Kind of funny how the banner says "Hot Item" in the video preview.
I like Red Eye, but at times it seems like Hollywood Squares. Snark first, then real answer. So that raises the question, why has James J. Bullock not been a guest?
Nick isn't Lou Reed, he's Anton Chigurh. What's the most of your liberty you've ever lost on a coin toss?
This show is a news version of the wacky morning radio crews. Whoops, I meant "wacky." Sans the crazy voices and sound effects.
nick, i'm sorry. these guys don't quite share your sense of humor. you should have them all on reason.tv and make jokes about them that they won't understand.
+1 Addison. I think on the opening shot of Nick you can see him just finishing rolling his eyes at the host's atrocious puns.
In a just world Greg Gutfeld would be filing for unemployment, having just been laid off from his job a Circuit City.
What's with all the Red Eye hate? This is a show that doesn't take itself seriously and it's refreshingly absurdist and un-p.c. That said, I agree with the posters who said Gillespie doesn't go over so well on the show. Perhaps Matt Welch would do better.
"I like vodka, and I like beer, but I don't like vodka in my beer."
You don't know what you're missing. The Russians call it Yorsh. Best nights I don't remember.
Why the hatin' on Red Eye? You all sound like a bunch of disgruntled houseboys...
SIC SEMPER TYRANNOSAURUS!!
If cleverness were a Louisville slugger, I'd use it to club the snark out of the unfunny schmucko host of Red Eye...
Andy Levy, on the other hand, is hilarious...
doug benson, the guy who did the "super high me" movie, on a show called "red eye." coincidence...i think not. also, i really hope the host of this show fucking never appears on tv again. most obnoxious prick ever.
