Physicist Abdul Moniem El-Ganayni says he is leaving the United States after losing his security clearance and, with it, his job of some 17 years at a nuclear lab. El-Ganayni, a U.S. citizen since 1988, says he lost his clearance because of his opposition to the Iraq War and the government's treatment of Muslims. Acting Deputy Energy Secretary Jeffrey Kupfer, who ordered the clearance revoked, said he had good information that El-Ganayni is a security risk, but he refused to let the scientist see that information or defend himself.
