Inaugural Counterprogramming
My weekly three-hour radio show begins today at noon, just as a new president is sworn in. This means (a) I'll have even fewer listeners than usual, and (b) I'll find some way to mark the occasion in the appropriate style. Stay tuned.

Seems appropriate to play "Won't get fooled again" by the Who.
I played that one right after the election. Got some other plans this time...
Howard Stern material? Oh! The anticipation!!!
How about some Country Joe and the Fish?
You could note today's announcement of major job cuts at Clear Channel. (Supposedly, CC is deliberately making the announcement today in an effort to have it be overshadowed by the inauguration.)
I wish I could listen to your show, Jesse, but I am at work. Anything other than the worship-fest for Black Caesar's Lupercal moment.
Complicated Game by XTC seems appropriate.
Epi,
Are you suggesting that a guy with the title of godfather could be infertile? Watch your back bro.
And yea, when Obama accepted the Mandate of Heaven, all of the people did rejoice and made acquisition of sundry coins with His visage set forth thereupon. And there was great rejoicing and many pearls cast before swine.
Also, since I mentioned it in an unrelated thread recently, how about Warren Zevon's "The Envoy"?

The Internationale?
Metal seems not to be your thing, but Arch Enemy - Rise of the Tyrant might ruffle some feathers. He's a god now!
"Temples of Syrinx?"
I hear the Temple of Syrinx is having the bake sale of the year, Pro Lib. One zero zero zero one one, one zero one zero one.
How about, for all the promises he's gonna break, the O'Jays.
Funky President! Of course!
Ah. The sobriety of sentiment in this comments section, after what I just went through, is... reassuring. Thank you, everyone.
OK, now it can be told.
At the beginning of the show, I announced that we were going to cut away to the inauguration. Then I started playing one of the George W. Bush inaugurations, made horrified noises, and segued into the Kinks' "Do It Again."
The effect was somewhat blunted by the fact that the prerecorded show before mine ran long, so it wasn't actually noon when I did this. Dammit.
Other inaugural songs on the playlist included X's "The New World" and Steve Earle's "Christmas in Washington." And, yes, "Funky President."
Shoulda played "Put A Sex Mo-Sheen In the White House" by Mr. Nixon.
