    First Post!

  2. ed   16 years ago

OK, this one made me giggle.
    And good morning, Guy.

  3. Guy Montag   16 years ago

Love the cartoon. Goes great with my Starbucks Mocha!

In the near future will all coffee come from the government?

  4. Guy Montag   16 years ago

Hello ed. Headed to work soon?

  5. ed   16 years ago

I have no current job, Guy. Maybe I can "work" for the Government?
Looks easy, and I do sleep extraordinarily well...

  6. Guy Montag   16 years ago

OT: The "free travel" roads into DC from Virginia will be cut off for the coronation next week. If you want to go into town you need to take METRO or a bus or limo. Walking is allowed too, but only across a couple of the bridges.

My favorite reaction was someone equating it to pay-back for the civil war! LOL

    More change to believe in.

  7. Guy Montag   16 years ago

    ed,

Sorry, did not know that. Mine is on the way to being converted to a government job anyway. Have not bothered looking into "competing" for it on that basis.

  8. Bingo   16 years ago

    Hooray its payday!

  9. Guy Montag   16 years ago

    Bingo,

You will be even more happy when President Obama lets you keep almost $100/mo. more than you get to keep now!

Well, only if you don't make more than him if the latest numbers are 'right'.

  10. ed   16 years ago

    Rub it in, Bingo.

  11. ed   16 years ago

On the very bright side, it will be 75 and sunny today with a light ocean breeze. I will be cashing a check from the underground economy and sipping cheap beer by the poolside. I must remember to put on some lotion.

  12. Guy Montag   16 years ago

    ed,

Did you forget about trolling for bored chicks whose significant others are not paying them enough attention?

  13. ed   16 years ago

It's on my "do list", Guy.
What's a gigolo making in these hard times?
Would I get a tax cut too?

  14. Guy Montag   16 years ago

    ed,

I suggest an expensive hotel pool for your cheap beer sipping. Or a hole-in-the-wall bar in another neighborhood from yours.

Not sure what is going on tn the gigolo market, but I bet the government does not either so you may qualify for a bailout.

  15. James Woodson   16 years ago

LOL, that is pretty funny dude! Well done!

  17. Nigel Watt   16 years ago

My last day at work before the semester begins, woohoo.

  18. Nigel Watt   16 years ago

Oh yeah, and this cartoon doesn't suck Dick Cheney's balls.

  19. P Brooks   16 years ago

I was going to say something snarky about the cartoon, but I shall refrain from making with the negative waves.

    Pools? Ocean breezes? Pffft.
A dusting of snow, last night. If the sun comes out, I think I'll go skiing.

  20. Warren   16 years ago

Stantis has it all over Bok no question. Still, I can't help but feel the space could be put to better use. Maybe a nice ad featuring the RPG.

  21. Strangel   16 years ago

Haha! But seriously - it's time to change this to "Friday Funny." Every week I open this page and I feel gipped. 😉

  22. LurkerBold   16 years ago

Strangel gets to be the opening racist today. Congratulations.

  23. Other Matt   16 years ago

    Hilarious.

  24. LurkerBold   16 years ago

    Other Matt,

There is nothing funny about verbally oppressing the Gypsies.

  25. Untermensch   16 years ago

A Friday Funnies that lives up to its name. Wonders never cease.

This is the happiest thread in a while.

It was until ____ stunk up the joint.

  27. Nick   16 years ago

That's where gipped came from? Who knew?

Question is, do Gypsies care? I mean, it is their lifestyle to rip people off and move on, right? Maybe they look at it differently than overly sensitive leftist trolls. Is calling this turd a troll, offensive to trolls? Maybe they rejoice that one of their own uses the Intertubes and is out from beneath those bridges that keep falling down! Hooray!

  28. Eric the .5b   16 years ago

OK, that was funny. Nice. 🙂

  29. Sean W. Malone   16 years ago

As I understand it, I believe the Gypsies are a variety of Christian sect who's sacred right is to rip people off... Seems that one could probably rightly use the words "Gypped" or "Gipped" when referring to being ripped off and not really be racially slurring a group of people who barely exist anyway, and certainly not in the US.

    Ahhh... Trolls. So much fun.

  30. KD   16 years ago

Below, just because I'm bored, and it is raining... I'm choosing to be pedantic.

I believe the correct spelling is "gypped" - thus the Gypsy origin.

If spelled with the "i" rather than the "y" it then is pronounced with a hard "g" as in gull and its origins come from football, i.e. George(the Gipper) Gipp, and Ronald Reagan's portrayal of him in the 1940 film Knute Rockne, All American.

By the way, notice that George has to soft "g"s and Gipp has a hard "g".

    Pedant ... out.

  31. Richard Stands   16 years ago

I found a few dictionaries that show "gip" as a variant of "gyp". All show the pronunciation starting with the soft "j" sound.

    And I liked the cartoon.
