I want that T shirt. Where can I get one?

  2. Brandybuck   17 years ago

I've spent the week in Europe. Everywhere I go I hear people saying the problem is the result of free markets. The meaning of "capitalism" was destroyed in 1929 when everyone blamed their woes on it, now the term "free market" is being destroyed the same way.

We need to counteract this, and a tee-shirt like this is one way. We can also counteract this by associating the crash with Bush's neo-fascist corporatism.

  3. JW   17 years ago

Why is Bush a Vulcan revolutionary?

  4. Reinmoose   17 years ago

Are you sure you ever left the states?

  5. roversaurus   17 years ago

    Me too!

I want one of those T-Shirts!

I thought about doing it myself but I can't
draw so I'd just have to lift it from here
and I think it would violate copyright from Chip Bok.

  6. Warren   17 years ago

Wow! Best Friday Funnies in as long as I can remember. Not actually ha ha funny, but good. Who is this Scott Stantis fellow? Maybe all our carping has paid off.

  7. Christ on a Cracker   17 years ago

Why is Alfred E. Newman on the fat guy's shirt?

  8. rhywun   17 years ago

Benefit from my bailout you shall.

  9. SIV   17 years ago

    +1
The overall cartoon isn't great but the t-shirt concept redeems all.

  10. JMR   17 years ago

People here bitch A LOT about Friday Funnies, but this one goes in the "damn good, and damn funny" category for me.

  11. JMR   17 years ago

PS IMO Christ on a Cracker wins the thread, and count me among those who'd buy that T-shirt (XL, please) in a heartbeat. Chip Bok, the market gods are telling you something -- "MAKE THAT SHIRT!"

  12. Shirt   17 years ago

JMR & roversaurus: What does Chip Bok have to do with this?

  13. Episiarch   17 years ago

It's true but it's not that funny. Still, not bad, and it beats Chip Bok like a red-headed stepchild.

  14. JMR   17 years ago

    Crap, it was Stantis!

  15. Citizen Nothing   17 years ago

    I actually chuckled.

  16. SugarFree   17 years ago

The Bushguevara is not a new idea. Still, T-shirts are a nice idea.

  17. Citizen Nothing   17 years ago

But, but, he's like the most free market, deregulationary president evah, no?

  18. brotherben   17 years ago

Looks more like Mr. Tumnus to me.

  19. Tom   17 years ago

Does it count as suicidal that hearing all the anti-free market crap makes me want to jump off a tall building and land on some commie demonstrator?

  20. ed   17 years ago

count me among those who'd buy that T-shirt

It's a simple process to download the image, separate the Bush character from the shirt, enlarge it, clean it up and take it to a screen printer to make a 1-color screen. Buy some cheap Ts in bulk and you could double your money, but you'd better hurry. After the election you won't be able to give them away. There's also that pesky copyright problem, but libertarians have abandoned that concept, haven't they. Ironic, no?

  21. Jaybird   17 years ago

    Information wants to be free!

  22. economist   17 years ago

I don't know if I buy the whole Bush as a Che Guevara figure thing. I think government involvement has created a clusterfuck, but there are different varieties of statist intervention, even in economic matters. Just saying.

  23. Wes Winham   17 years ago

    I'm sooo making that t-shirt.

  24. voxpo   17 years ago

    Ironic, no?

    No.

  25. Lane Honda   17 years ago

"but there are different varieties of statist intervention, even in economic matters. Just saying."

No, what exactly are you saying?

  26. the innominate one   17 years ago

good one, but I think this means that reason agrees with Chavez

  27. Paul   17 years ago

I want that T shirt. Where can I get one?

    Word... x10.

  28. Paul   17 years ago

    Reinmoose... Snap!

  29. J. Brown   17 years ago

Quite funny indeed. I'd like one of those shirts just to stick it to all these socialists-for-the-image people here in San Francisco.
"Wait, capitalists can really hate George Bush?"

  30. P Brooks   17 years ago

I think pasting George W Peron's mug on a picture of Mussolini reviewing the troops would be better.

  31. Oregon Scott   17 years ago

    Yes! I want that t-shirt, too! 🙂

    Scott
