Thank God the government, in their wisdom, threw all those investigative resources at things like internet poker & gold backed currencies instead of the real criminals. Sigh...

  2. mnuez   17 years ago

You Reasoinoids are a hypocritical and pretty repulsive bunch. All that you've got on the enormous corporate welfare is a few jokes and a few quotes from other pundits. For advocates of Universal Healthcare you have almost endless scorn and indignation but for the government misusing taxpayer's Hundreds of Billions of dollars so as to allow you to keep your Upper Middle Class lifestyle you have nothing to offer but a few halfhearted, sleepy, the-ideology-demands-I-pretend-to-protect-this, disapprovals.

Millions of your fellow citizens - people you see every day as you go about your lives - struggle awesomely in slavish poverty without recourse to a dentist or a doctor and your conscience has you loudly demanding that they remain that way, but when your OWN way of life is under serious assault, you stay very quiet and very still and hope that no one will notice you silently, mealy-mouthed, hoping the government will do whatever it takes to keep the market from tanking, and your own lifestyle with it.

I fully expect some of the dumber members here to point to the few, half-hearted, articles opposing the bailouts and claim that I'm therefore insane. The dumb are always with us.

    struggle awesomely in slavish poverty

That somehow sounds like a good thing.

  4. Jim Bob   17 years ago

Made some improvements, Bok, because you you don't explain things enough.

  5. Episiarch   17 years ago

I fully expect some of the dumber members here to point to the few, half-hearted, articles opposing the bailouts and claim that I'm therefore insane

Dude, pointing out that you are insane requires nothing other than pointing to your posts. Nothing else required. Make sure you take your Seroquel.

  6. JMR   17 years ago

    I vote lithium!

  7. ed   17 years ago

Not bad, Jim Bob, but they're not "sacks of money"; Uncle Sam is smuggling out those unworthy recipients of taxpayer largesse.

  8. Jim Bob   17 years ago

    Let's try that again.

  9. ed   17 years ago

    Egg-Cellent.

  10. Episiarch   17 years ago

    I vote lithium!

    Lithium isn't an anti-psychotic.

  11. Rhywun   17 years ago

I say we just let mnuez loose every Friday morning instead of Bok.

  12. Episiarch   17 years ago

I say we just let mnuez loose every Friday morning instead of Bok.

It would be like letting a chimp loose in an art classroom. I dig it!

  13. P Brooks   17 years ago

If Uncle Sam is taking those (heavily weighted) Fannie and Freddie sacks out into the river to throw them in, then I'll laugh.

    But I don't think that's it.

  14. Episiarch   17 years ago

Holy shit, go to the blog linked in mnuez's handle. Man, did I make the right call on the Seroquel.

  15. Reinmoose   17 years ago

    mnuez is right.

    I'm a sham! SHAM!

    wait... what?

  16. libertarian democrat   17 years ago

    ...

  17. Warty   17 years ago

The dumb are always with us.

Every few days, I'm reminded of Leibniz: this is truly the best of all possible worlds.

  18. Tulpa   17 years ago

Uh, since the feds are in the process of creating a "recovery fund" to help every bank that made bad loans, this cartoon is already out of date.

  19. JMR   17 years ago

My God. Tulpa's right. It's funny to see the left (and the neocon right) intellectually gyrating as libertarians are proved right. Hell, McCain just bleated about "a strong dollar,"

    HA!!!

As if he (or Obama) could do jackshit about monetary policy going in the toilet given BS like:

    http://www.webofdebt.com/articles/its_the_derivatives.php

    Again, HA!!!

  20. Shem   17 years ago

See, I'm starting to think that the "funny" comes in for the writers of the blog, who enjoy reading our comments about how much these cartoons *suck ass*. Jesus guys, what did I ever do to you?

  21. robc   17 years ago

The optimist says this is the best of all possible worlds. The pessimist agrees.

  22. Rhywun   17 years ago

Holy shit, go to the blog linked in mnuez's handle.

    My eyes!

  23. Warren   17 years ago

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

  24. Episiarch   17 years ago

Do both, Warren! You can scare your co-workers!

  25. Dagny T.   17 years ago

Holy shit, go to the blog linked in mnuez's handle.

FTW! That was wildly enjoyable. I think it broke my brain, but holy Christ, it was funny.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Warren, if you're brave enough to scroll down, there are poems! You'll definitely laugh.

  26. *   17 years ago

Uncle Sam will soon be feeling better, what with Freddie giving him head.

  27. Episiarch   17 years ago

That was wildly enjoyable. I think it broke my brain, but holy Christ, it was funny.

The last post was from December. I wish he'd post more. I need something to laugh at today.

  28. Rhywun   17 years ago

    FTW!

The conservative! The racist! The arrogant SOB! The depressive! What's not to like?

  29. SugarFree   17 years ago

It's a genre I like to call ramblecrazy.

  30. Dagny T.   17 years ago

I wish he'd post more. I need something to laugh at today.

Me too! If he's reading this thread, maybe he'll be encouraged. It's nice to feel I've done my part.

It's a genre I like to call ramblecrazy.

Lots of ramblecrazy is too monotonous ('I hate teh gayz, teh Jooz, teh Mexicans', etc). This in particular hit the right blend of sincerity, a staggering lack of self-awareness, and the random. Fun!

  31. Contextant   17 years ago

Despair.com has a good poster on this situation.
    http://www.despair.com/government.html

  32. Contextant   17 years ago

This drive-by poster mnuez says he was an A+ student. Yeah, he gets high marks in stupidity.

Empty barrels make the most noise.

  33. FrBunny   17 years ago

Egads! Did you happend to read the comments (also mostly posted by mnuez) to the 12/22 post in mnuez's blog?! How can someone use SO many words to say so very litte? This is the best link I've followed since the LEO blog!
