WomenCount Stumps for Palin, Sort Of…
The AP reports that WomenCount, "a group co-founded by top Hillary fundraiser Susie Tompkins Buell," the founder of Esprit and now a full-time philanthropist, has weighed in on certain attacks against GOP vice presidential nominee, Gov. Sarah Palin.
"The very notion that Sarah Palin should not have accepted this nomination because she is a mother with demanding challenges underscores just how far we have to go," wrote Rosemary Camposano, the group's communications director.
She added: "It will be good for America to watch Sarah Palin on the campaign trail— bouncing from parenting to politics. That's how most women function—multi-tasking, leaning on friends and family, and waking up each morning and doing it all again."
The group notes, however, that they do not approve of Palin's politics. "We cannot pretend that Governor Palin meets any standard of progressive politics or social values," Camposano writes.
Unlike other feminist organizations which have taken up against Palin because of her conservative views, however, WomenCount says they'll "work to stamp out sexism when we see it on the campaign trail."
"To paraphrase the words of one blogger who said it best over the weekend: We will defend Sarah Palin against misogynist smears not because we like her or support her, but because that's how feminism works."
More AP here. WomenCount site here.
That gets it just about right, I think. There is a lot in Palin's political record to contest, from virtually any perspective, but certainly from that of left-of-center liberals. And libertarians. Or anybody who likes less government spending. But the crap about Ma Palin being too busy with the kids to do her job is, well, crap.
All this week, reason's Katherine Mangu-Ward discusses Palin and feminism with Pandagon's Amanda Marcotte for The Los Angeles Times.
And boo on the LAT for practicing its own subtle form of sexism: It has a photo gallery of Palin dubbed "The Politics of Fashion" (including the Lynndie England-style thumb shot illustrating this blog post), something it has also done for political spouses Michelle Obama and Cindy McCain. Hey, when is the Todd Palin spread coming?

Yeow. Where’s a garden hose when you need it?
including the Lynndie England-style thumb shot illustrating this blog post
Um, where are the piles of sexually abused prisoners?
Absent that, how is this anything like Lynnie England whatsoever?
Is that shirt for real?
All male politicians wear tailored blue suits with either red or blue ties. You’re not going to get a whole lotta colum inches out of that.
I wonder if Penthouse has made an offer to Palin, yet?
In what parallel universe am I viewing this “campaign” for our national leadership? The good news is that voters have six weeks to sort through this insanity. The bad news is that voters have six weeks to sort through this insanity. Libertarian Democrat wishes Barack were more libertarian and that Sen. Windbag would just go away. But Sen. McInsane and Gov. Beyond the Pale-in should just scare the hell out of ANYBODY who calls himself or herself a libertarian!
All this week, reason’s Katherine Mangu-Ward discusses Palin and feminism with Pandagon’s Amanda Marcotte for The Los Angeles Times.
Why is KMW being punished so? She wouldn’t wear the leather jacket, would she?
Leftoids don’t even bother with the truth when sliming Palin.
Correct – It’s crap.
But it’s been really funny to watch people who have for years championed the traditional role of women shit all over themselves with excitement at her nomination. I’ve got relatives who are apeshit over her who just a year or two ago would have lambasted a woman, any woman, for pursuing a career when she ‘should be taking care of her kids at home’.
Palin, shmalin. Whatever. She’s *just* the veep candidate for chrissakes. But the hipocrasy coming from the right is delightful.
Terry,
I’m not voting for either, but I think the actual danger posed by a GOP president is somewhat mitigated by the fact that Congress is likely to remain under Democratic control for the time being. Now if McCain proves to be popular, he can attempt to befuddle an opposition Congress the way that Reagan did, though I doubt he’d get away with it.
Obama, on the other hand, could potentially do some real damage with Congress’ willing connivance.
Anyone else got it like me? And it’s only been a week and a half…
But Sen. McInsane and Gov. Beyond the Pale-in
Hittin’ the sauce a little early on a Tuesday, arencha?
Or are LAAAAAME puns the hallmark of the mythical animal what calls himself a “libertarian democrat”?
Speaking of Palin, does anyone else feel like people are viewing this as a race between Obama and Palin, as if she’d be dictating policy if McCrazy wins?
Did I miss something when Biden was nominated? It just didn’t seem to shift the direction of the campaign much. But with Palin, people are looking at her views on government and spending and projecting those views onto McCrazy.
It should be interesting to watch what happens when the debates start. My guess – McCrazy does so badly in the debates that people feel sorry for him.
Nick, the “crap about Ma Palin being too busy with the kids to do her job, is, well,” right on the money.
Of course, the decision whether to accept Johnny boy’s invite is entirely Mrs. Palin’s. That is not the issue. In fact, to suggest that it is the issue is disingenuous. The hypocrisy of liberal columnists is not the issue either.
The real issue presented is whether a mother or a father with 5 children under the legal drinking age, including an infant with down’s syndrome, are being the best parents they can if they become president or vice president. I submit that both Obama and Palin are not being the best parents they could be. IMO, if one seeks the office of POTUS or VPOTUS with young children then one has already conceded that one will not be the best parent one could be.
because that’s how feminism works.
Except when it doesn’t.
Careful JW. Unless you want the Cobra Kai led by Gillespie to take you down.

well said Nick…even I agree wholeheartedly

It’s pretty obvious who wears the pants in that family.
NTTAWWT. I, for one, welcome our new pants-less overlord.
It is sexist to only look at this issue from the standpoint of Gov. Palin. It applies equally to Obama.
Careful JW. Unless you want the Cobra Kai led by Gillespie to take you down.
I’m not worried. I have this one, ONE, very special move that I do. He’ll never see me broadcasting my intentions at all as I set it up.
“It will be good for America to watch Sarah Palin on the campaign trail- bouncing from parenting to politics. That’s how most women function-multi-tasking, leaning on friends and family, and waking up each morning and doing it all again.”
I hate to be rude, but how many women with a four-month-old infant suffering from Down’s syndrome take on a 12-hour a day, 7 days a week schedule for two months’? If, God forbid, she’s elected VP, how much time will she spend with her child? Damn little. She gets enormous credit with the right for taking on the awesome responsibility of caring for a child with disabilities and then runs out and takes a job than guarantees she won’t be spending any time with her baby.
Obama’s daughters are 7 and 10 years old, or at least they will be by the time he’s in office. Anyone who’s raised children can tell you that there’s a big difference between a 7 year old and a 1 year old.
But to be fair, there’s a large difference in responsibility between being Pres and being Veep.
Hey, here’s a thought – maybe Obama should tell Biden to pound salt and nominate Palin. Then we can have one big personality cult jack-off fest and skip the election entirely.
“Hey, here’s a thought – maybe Obama should tell Biden to pound salt and nominate Palin. Then we can have one big personality cult jack-off fest and skip the election entirely.”
Win.
Tiger style? Crane? Monkey? I’d start practicing.
Denial is not just a river in Egypt!

This is why god invented Au pairs. That, and so dad will have someone to hit on without having to go out.

SWEEP THE LEG!!!
Unless you want the Cobra Kai led by Gillespie to take you down.
Fear does not exist on this web site!
Reason has really gone to hell since Pat Morita left.
D’oh!
Disclaimer:
If a younger female version of Ron Paul with 5 young children was seriously contending for POTUS, I would not let her decision to forsake being the very best parent she could be to get in the way of voting for her.
I have this one, ONE, very special move that I do. He’ll never see me broadcasting my intentions at all as I set it up.
You look at Sarah Palin and “wax off?”
EPI!!!! Have you been studying my moves?
Joe,
What gives? That was actually funny. Are you cutting and pasting jokes from your emails? LOL!
If, God forbid, she’s elected VP, how much time will she spend with her child? Damn little.
Sarah Palin may think a lot like Dick Cheney, but I find it pretty unlikely that she’s play the same role in a John McCain administration.
You look at Sarah Palin and “wax off?”
No, silly. I save that for Cindy and her evil villainess yellow dress.
Joe-
Don’t you agree with the thrust of my 3:29 post?
We do not train to be merciful here. Mercy is for the weak. Here, in the streets, in competition: a man confronts you, he is the enemy. An enemy deserves no mercy.
(Naga gets distracted)
What is the problem Mr. Sadow?
IMO, if one seeks the office of POTUS or VPOTUS with young children then one has already conceded that one will not be the best parent one could be.
Bullshit. Wealthy people hire other people to do the dirty work of raising kids. The children of the wealthy have their own set of issues to deal with, but suffering during childhood is not one of them.
Low-income, working-class, single-parents are the ones that have conceded that they will not be the best parent they could be.
Children of doctors, lawyers, corporate executives and other over-worked executives tend to turn out just fine. Bitching that Palin’s kids will suffer if she becomes VP is totally off point.
It is whiney for the part of the Right Wing whose attitude towrds “feminazis” to all of a sudden think that sexism is something to be stamped out.
You know what I mean?
I don’t think the fact that Palin is a mother of five kids is a strike against her for Veep, but frankly, I think it does say something about her as a mother (just as Obama’s campaign says something about him as a father). You simply will not have the same level of interaction and amount of time with your children as the Pres. or VP as you would otherwise. Especially with a special needs child, for whom constant stimulation is so important at an early age, it’s difficult to argue that Palin is not giving her kids somewhat short shrift.
Episiarch,
“I spanked you as a baby, and I’ll spank you now BITCH!”
*punches through Episiarch*
“Like crap man. You don’t see that every day. I mean that doesn’t seem possible with all those body organs and cartilage and bones. I mean I’m no doctor or nothin’ but that was like one clean chunk.”
I have a question: Why can’t Todd Palin be the house husband while Sarah Palin’s out campaigning for and acting as VP? Is it the possible Python connection?
Naga Sadow,
Dude, I totally raided your tomb in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I desecrated it, too, biotch.
libertymike,
I really don’t think it’s my place to say. Maybe Papa Palin can play Mr. Mom now. The nursing-age thing is an issue, but again, it’s none of my business. There are good working parents, and there are lousy stay at home parents.
JW,
Yeah, Cindy’s got that “Cruella de Ville makes my pants hurt” thing going on, doesn’t she?
But I’d still take Michelle in something slinky. I like the look she gives her husband when she passes him on stage. Like, “You’re not getting any sleep tonight, either.”
“Sarah Palin is an embarrassment to women. She doesn’t deserve to have a vagina.”
All in all, there is more hawt in this election than in any previous one I can remember. Even with McCain on the ballot.
Fair enough, Pro Lib. I was probably getting laid somewhere while you were raiding my tomb. I’m the loser, not the guy going around raiding another man’s tomb in the middle of the night. LOL!
I hate to be rude, but how many women with a four-month-old infant suffering from Down’s syndrome take on a 12-hour a day, 7 days a week schedule for two months’? If, God forbid, she’s elected VP, how much time will she spend with her child?
New slogan: Vote against McCain/Palin. It’s for her children.
It seemed like writer was insinuating that Palin wasn’t doing enough to prosecute rapists on her watch. Thanks for the link SugarFree.
Here’s the deal: criticizing Palin, but not Biden, Obama or McCain, for spending time on the campaign instead of with her kids or relying on her husband or a third party is not necessarily sexist if it relies on the (possibly false) belief that Palin’s beliefs are sexist. For example, not necessarily applying to Palin, critizing a woman that supports “traditional families” and yet runs for a public office that takes up the majority of her time for being a bad mother on her own termsis not sexist, although it’s sort-of metasexist.
Most of what I hear about her on the matter I actually chalk up to knee-jerk Victorianism, though.
Naga,
All I could think of was: “Vagina Repo Man.”
Which, as a side note, when you google “vagina repo man” as a phrase it doesn’t come up. Now it will. YOU’RE WELCOME, POSTERITY!
Has anyone else been reading the cat fest currently going on over at Slate XX factor? Those women have gone batshit insane about Palin. I have never read so much mean spirited snark in my entire life. It is like a big sorority slam book with the women at XX playing the role of the homely smart girls who never got dates ripping on the homecoming queen. I have never seen a group of women raffirm so many negative female stereo types in my life.
Naga Sadow..I can bet without looking that article is talking about Wasilla charging rape victims for the rape kit used on them to gather evidence.
Am I right?
Pretty much. But that has a basis to complain about, not suggest that rape is being downgraded in seriousness on Palin’s watch. Governments small and large are whores for money.
Vagina Repo Man? Sounds almost like a porno movie. But don’t worry about posterity. Whenever I hear “Vagina Repo Man”, I’ll think of you and tear up a little.
Tear up a little what?
Stop that! Get away from my computer! That’s a terrible thing to write, strange ruffian I don’t know!
John, you realize your post is kind of funny, using sexist stereotypes to attack the sexist stereotypes of the women over at slate.
And of course your full of shit if you’re claiming you’ve “never read so much mean spirited snark” than you find at Slate. Get fucking real.
It also has tax rates that would give you nightmares and does give the EU nightmares. Further, a paleocon is someone of the Henry Cabot Lodge 1930s isolationist wing of conservatism, which I am most assuredly not. Try using a dictionary sometime. They are amazing things.
Putting Palin in as VP could help her children. A secret service contingent guarding Bristol Palin’s bedroom could help Sarah a lot it seems….
Tear. As in teardrop. Bodily fluid secreted from the eye. Though with Palin in that shirt I would like tear that up.
Don’t go to Feministing (though I got a huge chuckle about whichever wingnutty pundit associated t with “fisting”. What an idiot.
In a way, it can be viewed as being downgraded. If a woman can’t afford it, then she might be less likely to file charges. And if she can’t afford it, would the police be less inclined to go after the assailant because they lack the proof that could be found in the rapekit? Semen, dna, etc.
I can see that. But I am sure that the gals at Feministing are going ballistic.
joe,
Breast pumps.
In all seriousness, most of my friends have ended up only spending 6-12 weeks with their newborns before having to go back to work. Whether the child is in daycare or with Mary Poppins, he or she ain’t with Mommy. I also have a friend who is a house husband.
My wife and I have been fortunate enough that we can (barely!) afford for her to stay home until our youngest is kindergarten age. At least, that’s the plan. If it can be done, that’s the best way to do it–the advantages of nursing and the ability for the child to get that extra parental attention has got to be a good thing.
Naga Sadow,
Dude, how do you think I went about desecrating your tomb?
Not really my place to judge, but my pro-life Aunt, mother of my Autistic cousin, was appalled that she would take this responsibility on with a six-month down syndrome baby.
And of course your full of shit if you’re claiming you’ve “never read so much mean spirited snark” than you find at Slate
Yeah, John, what are we? Chopped liver? Do I have to make yet another joke about retarded children to equal the Slate-ites?
Breast pumps
Sarah Palin strikes me as the kind of person who would pull a female version of LBJ’s famous maneuver.
Whhr-tick, whhr-tick, whhr-tick.
“You you have a problem, Mr. Undersecretary?”
“N-n-no, ma’am!”
Whhr-tick, whhr-tick, whhr-tick.
“So, are you going to take care of that for me, or do we need to discuss it a while longer?”
“Yes, ma’am! I mean, no ma’am! I mean…”
“OK, then, you can go now.”
Nah, Slate’s running pretty clean:
“P T Barnum – show us the baby, the baby
by iwasme
09/09/2008, 3:18 AM #
i wonder when the mccain campaign will start chargeing to show the defective child to the raptured christian throngs?”
——-
“if you really want something to rip sarah about think about the fact that she may have wanted a down’s syndrome baby to boost her credentials with the evangelical pentacostal right wing of the republican party. that goes better with her barracuuda win at all costs mindset than pretending to have her kids baby.”
——-
“How do you explain Sarah never going to a hospital while being preganant, and only her local doctor the only one to actually see her preganant and the doctors decision to deliver a “supposedly” month premature Down’s Syndrome baby in a doctors office, when a hospital was a short distance away?”
One thread folks. You can find a whole lot more… Until I see a liberal shit a rainbow with my own two eyes, I’m going to count them in the same venal asshole column as the rest of humanity.
Pro Liberate,
I sleep in that tomb!!! Sleeping in Pro Lib’s juices . . . gross! Now I gotta sterilize the whole damn thing!
Palin has only been on the ticket a week and a half and it feels like two years.
What five kids? The Army kid is shipping out to Iraq soon where his sarge will take care of him. The preggers one will soon be married and obeying her husband. That leaves three for Sarah and Todd to parent. And isn’t that like seven less than RFK and Joan had to worry about when he was seeking the nomination?
Thanks for reminding me joe. First Pro Lib, then joe . . . gross.
“Don’t worry about it son. It’s my perogative.”
Naga, when he says he desecrated your tomb, that’s code for assfucking you. You might want to stop accepting drinks from men you don’t know, or figure out how to detect rohypnol. ProL is a notorious rapist.
Episiarch,
We’d never stoop to insulting retarded kids. However, don’t forget the Santorum thread, where Hit & Run made its Triumph, the Insult-Comic Blog bones.
Naga Sadow,
Sucks being undead, doesn’t it?
Episiarch,
Ugh. No, wrong. As joe often accuses, you sir, are projecting.
Episiarch,
Your thoroughly disgusting remark reminds me of the great Sam Kinison. In a perfect world, he’d be running for president. And, well, alive.
We’d never stoop to insulting retarded kids
O Rly?
Episiarch,
You seem to have had an encounter with Pro Lib. Where do they sell those dolls that prosecutors use in molestation cases?
He molestered me! With his meatpole!
I need gloves just to click on this thread.
MNG … you’re an idiot. Seems as if they’ve let you out of the cage again. It looks as if we are going to have to contact your owners once again to let them know how serious we are when we say “Keep him inside …”
God dammit Epi. A little warning would be nice. Everyone in the campus library was staring at me while I started to tear up from laughing so hard.
Joe–
Try reading red state comment threads about Palin. Any female that reads them would need a cyber-prophylactic.
The shirt needs some explanation. A few years ago State Senator Ben Stevens (Ted’s son). Was being criticized by someone from Wasilla. His reactions was, “He’s just Valley Trash.” The people in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley (where Wasilla is located) took offense and responded with t-shirts, posters etc. like this one.
BDB,
Naughty. But what’s wrong with cyber-coitus interupptus?
I was using the royal we. You, of course, would so stoop, when you aren’t busy projecting your tomb sex fantasies on the inherently straitlaced.
Well, mostly straitlaced. I did post that Shatner-Koko sex tape on Urkobold today. But that was required by my journalistic ethics.
Q: Why does Sarah Palin have 5 kids, with a grandchild on the way?
A: Drill here, drill now.
Your thoroughly disgusting remark reminds me of the great Sam Kinison
SAY IT!!! SAY IT!!!
You, of course, would so stoop, when you aren’t busy projecting your tomb sex fantasies on the inherently straitlaced
You’re going to pay for what you did to me, ProL! That’s the last time I let you inject me with anything! Including your penis!
I loved that man like a crazy, ex-preacher uncle.
Pro Lib,
I believe the word you were looking for was “relative”.
Man, are you barking up the wrong tree.
That’s what he said! OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!!!
You, meaning Episiarch. I’m not sure what the Sith Lord is talking about.
I’m going to go post some Kinison on Urkobold. Friggin’ god of comedy.
Yeah . . . I was kind of flailing with that last one. As for the “relative”, it’s always the uncle that touches you. Doesn’t matter what Springer episode you’re watching.
Fine, just run away, molesterer. First me, then Naga: when will you stop your rape-fest?
>>including the Lynndie England-style thumb shot illustrating this blog post
I object to that mischaracterisation! Everyone knows that to perform a Lynndie England-style thumb shot requires the use of both hands. Eg,
http://badgas.co.uk/lynndie/
Hmmmm . . . it’s almost like you wanna be raped by him . . . you love him like a crazy ex-preacher uncle too?
Any presidential candidate with minor children has pretty much proven that they are fairly crappy parents on any number of levels.
But hell, somebody has to do it. Let the kids have psychotherapy.
All these traumatic experiences have confused me, Naga. I think I’d better put an ad on craigslist.
Oh shit. Gotta go. Made me late for my finance class . . . you magnificent bastard.
IMO, if one seeks the office of POTUS or VPOTUS with young children then one has already conceded that one will not be the best parent one could be.
(a) Not that that’s any of our business, as voters or citizens.
(b) Says who? Being the child of a POTUS or VP guarantees you all sorts of perks and privileges, now and later in life. No frickin’ way Chelsea Clinton pulls down that sweet, sweet Wall Street hedge fund salary without mom and dad pulling the strings.
Naga,
Sadly, little Episiarch was a victim of some sadistic, sick ritual involving Jessica Hahn, Sam Kinison, and a group of homosexual, necrophiliac groupies.
ProL, I remember it like
I thought we’d all ready decided that she was a witch. She turned me into a newt!
Get the duck and the scales and let’s weigh her.
Wow, I’ve never even heard of that movie, yet it has a cast of thousands! Including Oscar winner Ernest Borgnine!
And Shatner!
Yes, what the Democrats fail to understand is that Palin secures forever the coveted Monty Python Mom demographic.
Well, yes, the Shat is greater than any mere award.
We’d never stoop to insulting retarded kids
Except fat ones.
Including Oscar winner Ernest Borgnine!
For more Borgnine magic, please see this gem.
I don’t know, is it insulting when you want to eat something? For instance, I eat fish, but I respect them. While I don’t partake of Soylent Green, having been forewarned by Mr. Heston, I imagine that those who do respect it as well.
Run, Dagny! ProL is here, and only knows “ball” and “good”…and “rape.”
He may have been in some crap, but he also was in Escape from New York and The Dirty Dozen.
Not to mention The Vikings.
Episiarch,
WTF?
Into each thread, a little rape and molestation must fall.
At least now we can examine the roots of your necrophilia. This must be very therapeutic for you.
He may have been in some crap
First, Merlin’s Shop of Mystical Wonders is not garden-variety crap. It is a highly recommended craptacular epic that must be seen to be believed.
Second, in two words: 7th Heaven.
At least now we can examine the roots of your necrophilia
You can start here.
This must be very therapeutic for you.
I’ve wanted to reveal what ProL did to me for some time but it took his violation of Naga for me to get up the courage.
Hah! Wrong again, Episiarch! As Naga clearly stated, he was not in his tomb when it was desecrated! I stand falsely accused! Again!
My seconds will lobotomize your seconds.
That “libertarians” link in Nick’s post is broken.
It goes to some leftist “civil liberties” site where they consider support for racial justice through affirmative action to be a good thing.
You can start here.
And I thought the Cronenberg was creepy. Another must-see, I guess?
it took his violation of Naga for me to get up the courage.
Take back the night, sister.
Yes, what’s with the left constantly wanting to steal our labels? First, they stole “liberal” in the U.S. Now, they’re after “libertarian”.
PL,
Yeah I can’t decide if I want to be called an anarcho-capitalist or a right wing shill now.
Maybe joe could help.
Nah, joe’s no help. We held a summit in a thread a while back to discuss his people returning “liberal” to our people, and it broke down when he decided that “progressive” wasn’t a good enough substitute. I thought it was a fair offer, myself, and we still have control over the word on the rest of the planet, after all.
And I thought the Cronenberg was creepy. Another must-see, I guess?
That movie is in my top 5 “most fucked up” movies. The end scene is possibly the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen on film and that’s saying a lot.
My seconds will lobotomize your seconds
I’m already there.
Feminists are so full of shit now. They only support a woman if she’s a democrat and tows the democrat agenda straight down the party line. Otherwise, you’re on your own to fend off the wolves.
“It is whiney for the part of the Right Wing whose attitude towrds “feminazis” to all of a sudden think that sexism is something to be stamped out.”
And it’s two faced and hypocritical for the feminazis to say that a woman can’t be a good mother and VP too…unless she’s a democrat, that is.
Feminists are so full of shit now. They only support a woman if she’s a democrat and tows the democrat agenda straight down the party line. Otherwise, you’re on your own to fend off the wolves.
Conservative definition of hypocrisy: the failure of a liberal to live up to the standards conservatives assign them.
Like, feminists have to take the side of the woman, no matter what she’s advocating, right?
Palin’s resume is so thin she couldn’t get any job in USA government in DC above the level of secretary-like positions. Americans get excited about a strong voice, short declarative statements no more than 6 or 7 words long, and the ability to speak to a camera with a smile (grin/smirk). Feminism has nothing to do with this, except for the idiot women who think that any ole woman will make things better, and the political wonkers who know how to exploit that. American’s are so shallow and stupid–it’s embarrassing.
The woman’s a governor, for God’s sake. That may not make her a physicist aiming to conquer the world with her brilliance, but it does make her an elite of sorts amongst politicians. Governors have a lot more to do day to day and policy-wise than legislators. That’s the whole reason this Senatorfest is an uncommon event in U.S. politics.
Ah, yes, Alaska–the frozen state of fringe weirdos who can’t make a go anywhere else. I’m so unimpressed. I return to the shallow and stupid theme….
“Like, feminists have to take the side of the woman, no matter what she’s advocating, right?”
Quibble much?
You know what I mean.
Feminists only take the side of women who are of a certain party. A woman can be a ball-busting, kick-ass, alpha bitch, but if she’s not a democrat, then they disregard her and put her in the same box the chauvinists do.
Darn those feminists for basing their opinion of political figures on their beliefs and values, and not on their gender. Darn not-engaging-in-identity-politics jerks.
That “libertarians” link in Nick’s post is broken.
It goes to some leftist “civil liberties” site where they consider support for racial justice through affirmative action to be a good thing.
This day and age one needs a scorecard to determine the players. Many of them are several bricks short of a libertarian load.
Drink.
American’s are so shallow and stupid–it’s embarrassing.
Yes they are. Can’t believe they bought the line of crap Pelosi and company fed them about ending the war. If you just vote for us!
Inexplicably, it’s two years later, and we’re still fighting in Iraq.
Palin’s resume is so thin she couldn’t get any job in USA government in DC above the level of secretary-like positions.
She is going to land the job where you get to live in the Naval Observatory.
Pamela,
So the Democrats are officially sneering at all states with low populations? Tsk, tsk.
