Revolutionary Rabbit
When the Marxist turned anarchist turned "Communalist" Murray Bookchin died two years ago, my obit cited something he produced in the '60s:
I'm fond of his 1969 pamphlet Listen, Marxist!, distributed at SDS's final convention, whose cover took that familiar row of faces from so many Stalinoid tomes -- Marx, Engels, Lenin -- and added Bugs Bunny at the end.
At the time I wanted to include a picture of that cover, but I couldn't find one online. Now Joel Schlosberg has uncovered it:
Note that I misremembered Bugs' position: He's not at the end but in the middle, in the place of honor he deserves.

Sounds from the obit like a fascinating fellow.
Also, two years later is a way better time-to-correction than "never", which I'm pretty sure is print media's global average. So, kudos.
What I would like to see is a picture of Ronald Reagan, Milton Friedman, and Margaret Thatcher with Porky Pig holding the place of honor.
...Ronald Reagan, Milton Friedman, and Margaret Thatcher with Porky Pig...
One of these things is not like the others...
Elemenope is ubiquitous.
Is he a staffer here? Is it a paying position?
Are there benefits?
Okay, Thatcher's a broad (allegedly), but she's still pretty porky.
Elemenope? He's a typical libertarian loser with more time than brains. I have to run. Lots to do.
Lennin looks pissed.
It is well known that wabbits are Trotskyite agents.
Check it out, joez Law!

BUGS BUNNY: Ehhh . . . what's up, doc?
LENIN: Your time on earth, you borgeois exploiter varmint, you, that's what's up! Yee-haw! [Whips out hunting rifle]
[Bugs Bunny puts carrot into gun barrel. Lenin fires, gun blows up and Lenin catches fire]
LENIN: Ow ow ow ow ow ow . . . [he jumps into a water trough to put himself out]
BUGS BUNNY: Now that's what I call the fire *this* time! [Munches on carrot]

Right, like make unsupportable comments elsewhere and then run off again - so typical of a certain type of leftist who substitutes insults for substantive reason and evidence.
One of these things is not like the others...
LMNOP, didn't you read Naomi Klein's book? Friedman was the mastermind behind every disaster of the 20th century, from the sinking of the Lusitania to Hurricane Andrew. All so he could enslave people and steal their property. You know, free trade.
Elemenope is ubiquitous.

The only drawback is shills can't cash chips.
It should also be noted that one time, I ate candy even though I said I wouldn't...!!! [Gasp!]
I just couldn't help myself. I like candy.
nasrudin
You actually think the shit posted here merits substabtive reason and evidence? You give me Bugs Bunny, and I give you Porky pig, you fucking moron.
You actually think the shit posted here...
Well, you post here.
QED.
I think of Bugs Bunny as an easy-going libertarian. Kinda like TWC, but in Bug's case that would be TCC.
I remember that obit, and the comparison that was made to Bookchin's evil twin, Rothbard. I still have both "Listen, Marxist" and "Listen, YAF" bookmarked. Does anyone know where the full essay is available online? Every copy I've found cuts off abruptly.
Can we get a moderator already?
Let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.
"I give you Porky pig, you fucking moron."
Thanks for continuing to support my point....this is just so easy.
Neil? Is that you?
Neil was a much higher class of troll than Edward/Lefiti. He even had his own phoney blog, with neo-con logic brilliant in its insipidity.
Baked:
although EDWEIRDOOO is a stand up guy, as he claims in this guest commentary, hier
and the interview with him...
Hmmmm . . . their are definitely similarities to this nasrudin here and edward's comments posted at Urkobold.
Great men like Milton Friedman and Porky Pig do not deserve to be associated with politicians like Reagan and Thatcher.
Wow that is one really cool rabbit. Dude I like it.

Moose - thx for reminding us what a zany guy the original Edward was/is.
On a semi-related (to the original thread) note, here is a tribute to Lenin cut into the Siberian forest, apparently as a prank on American satellites ca. 1970 or so.
Reading those comments from two years ago, I'm struck by how erudite they are compared to the snarkiness of H&R commenters these days. I've been reading H&R since the days of Suck, and while I'd hate to have a moderator/censor I sure would like to see some type of slashdot-style meta-tagging.
Mark certain comments as funny / snarky / insightful and I venture to say that the readership will increase. Some of us enjoy the circle-jerk of urkobold and picking on joe, while some of us prefer more intellectual discussion or simply don't have enough time to find the thread-jacked posts where some of the most interesting discussion happens. The commenters at cato and other blogs don't have nearly the insight and street sense of H&R (not enough cosmotarians, I guess).
(No disrepect intended to the regulars....I'll keep reading in any case [and occasionally posting].)
Ah yes. Edward. To much like Chuck Norris for me to dismiss so easily. Like Chuck, he doesn't sleep . . . he waits.
The only drawback is shills can't cash chips.
I am a shill for Big Asshole!
Let me tell you what I think about assholes...

What? Where?
ach. you missed it.
KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN
YOU KLINGON BASTARD!
You (Shatner pause)...killed (Shatner pause)...my son...
And neither do great cartoon characters like Bugs Bunny deserve to be associated with pontificating assholes like Marx, Lenin and Engels.
nu-clear wessels

Great idea, but only if the tags themselves are snarky. Otherwise, it just wouldn't suit Hit & Run. We absolutely have to have a "Drink!" tag.
Aaaah ... the tranya!
We absolutely have to have a "Drink!" tag.
Fucking brilliant.
"Hmmmm . . . their are definitely similarities to this nasrudin here and edward's comments posted at Urkobold."
Like there are similarities to Naga Sadow and a lump of coal on Christmas mornin'.
"Double dumbass on you!"
double dumbass on EDDWEIRDOOO!
