CBS Poll: Obama and McCain Now Tied
Go figure:
CBS) The presidential race between Barack Obama and John McCain is now even at 42 percent, according to a new CBS News poll conducted Monday-Wednesday of this week. Twelve percent are undecided according to the poll, and one percent said they wouldn't vote.
This is in contrast to a poll conducted last weekend, where the Obama-Biden ticket led McCain-Palin by eight points, 48 percent to 40 percent.
Genuinely surprising, though don't know what it means by, say, tomorrow at noon.

This one by itself doesn't mean much. It's only of ~ 800 Registered (not likely) voters.
It will be more worthwhile to wait for the first post-GOP convention polls at the beginning of next week.
Palin for America
Either the American people really are turned off by styrofoam columns, or the Palin pick was even better than I thought it was.
Barracuda !!!!!!
The tracking polls from the same time don't show that movement.
joe,
Yeah, the two tracking polls at RCP have Obama ahead by 5% and 7% respectively.
i told my Obama obsessed co-workers that Palin now made it close. America loves a cutie, whether its Obama or Palin. 50/50. /me pats self on back
It is really pathetic how the base tells itself that the ticket is reversed.
BDB, a buddy at work nailed it. He's convinced that McCain wins and the Illuminati kills him a month after the inauguration.
I reiterate my prediction from last Wednesday:
According to the conventional wisdom, I've already nailed the hard part.
Dudes, this is Reason. Head over to Intrade for the monetary betting scoop on who will win. http://www.intrade.com
You can't argue with those results, because if you think that they are wrong, or a product of the msm or whatever, you can make real money by trading those contracts. So, the poll says 50/50, but you can buy John McCain for $.39 to pay a dollar if he wins. The price efficiently aggregates all of the different polling info into one number, including registered vs. likely voters, state by state outcomes, etc.
Drudge links to Rasmussin that says Palin now has higher favorable rating than either Obama or McCain.
I guess she's a blank canvss on which everyone can paint their own agenda.
Cbs.Poll is not an accurate survey of the race for President. Their survey was conducted among a random sampling of 835 adults nationwide including 734 registered voters. The Demographics does not include a survey among Blacks of Hipanics. The demographics polled include White Evangelicals. CBS pollsters are under the mistaken belief that there are no Black Evcangelicals. In the most recent Gallup Poll Obama received 93% of non-Hispanic Blacks to McCain,s 3% Obama received 64% of the Hispanics surveyed and McCain received 24%. That fact alone would indicate that the CBS Poll is inaccurate and misleading to the public. Let's report honestly CBS
