"A group of up to 300 young men killed 11 people who were accused of being witches and wizards in western Kenya."

They were turning people into newts.

I wonder if any of them were related to Obama.

  2. The Wine Commonsewer   17 years ago

    Thanks Jesse.

  3. NP   17 years ago

Actually, TWC, I wouldn't thank Jesse or his uber-gracious employer so fast if I were you. I see that Reason has adopted the thankless "nofollow" attribute, so whatever traffic you get from this post will have no effect whatsoever on your Google rank. 🙂

  4. The Wine Commonsewer   17 years ago

NP, that's okay, I'm grateful for the shout out anyway.

Although blogging doesn't pay well, it keeps me out of the bars.

I'm not that up on all of that but I thought Google rankings were based on how many links you had out there.

  5. BakedPenguin   17 years ago

That intro to that doc is really terrible. The montage was seizure enducing and too long by half. After that, they repeated the same 'rack focus from long shot of scenic Vietnam to close up of barbed wire' thing about eight times.

Ford's Sex Hygeine is more fun.

  6. Cool Cal   17 years ago

At least we gave OUR witches due process.

    Good night everyone!

  7. Rhywun   17 years ago

I thought Google rankings were based on how many links you had out there

I think they're based on how many docs link to your doc. And the nofollow attribute would break that link. However, the nofollow here is applied to comments, not the link at the top.

  8. R C Dean   17 years ago

I see that Reason has adopted the thankless "nofollow" attribute, so whatever traffic you get from this post will have no effect whatsoever on your Google rank. 🙂

Thanks for this probably go to our ol' buddy Click 'n Nofollow.

  9. NP   17 years ago

TWC - I don't know what "bars" you're talking about (you're reporting your ad revenues to the feds, right?), but yeah, blogging isn't prolly a good way to pay your bills.

And the way Google rankings work is a little complicated, but what "nofollow" does is to prevent the Google robot from following the link. So if someone visits your site by clicking the "nofollow" link that doesn't affect your site's ranking.

Rhywun - You're right, I got confused about that. Thanks for clearing that up. (So TWC, looks like you're safe from the bars for a while!)

R C Dean - Yep siree. Lonewacko didn't get any boost from all those links. Maybe I was too tough on Reason earlier.

  10. Rhywun   17 years ago

Thanks for this probably go to our ol' buddy Click 'n Nofollow.

Nice deduction. The only acceptable plugging IMHO is behind your screen name. Everything else is loathsome.

  11. The Wine Commonsewer   17 years ago

Rhywun, NP, thanks for the tutoring.

  12. The Wine Commonsewer   17 years ago

I don't know what "bars" you're talking about...

Moe's place and Kathy's Talk of the Town. 🙂

Actually, I have my own stash here within easy reach of the keyboard. No need to risk a DUI or forcible blood removal, which, in my case isn't possible. You can't get blood out of a stone, nor can you find my veins.

I was happy I brought my own wine to Lost Wages a couple of weeks ago. Dude! They were asking three and four times the retail price for wine. Bottle of J Lohr cab, $60.00 in the store at New York New York. It's a decent wine, but you can buy it most places for $10-$15.

  13. NP   17 years ago

    TWC,

No problem, man. BTW do you live in San Antonio? I don't know of any other town that prides itself in acting like a Dracula. (You know why I know about this one.)

  14. The Wine Commonsewer   17 years ago

NP, nah, Californicate, I was making reference to the post about forcible blood removal today.

  15. Art-P.O.G.   17 years ago

    I had to do it

  16. nfl premier jerseys   15 years ago

What you had mentioned is quite reasonable! Beautifully written article sir. Choose your premier jerseys here with the lowest price and the best quality.
