Huckabee at Appomattox

Huh. Never thought I'd see this: the Club for Growth's Nachama "bane of Mike Huckabee" Soloveichik interviewing Mike "bane of the Club for Growth" Huckabee.

It's a bit ironic, because the signature accomplishment of the Club in 2007 was the pre-emptive pummelling of Huckabee's reputation, the effort to rule him out, forever, as a presidential or vice presidential nominee. Soloveichik is awfully comfortable asking Huckabee about--ha, ha!--who McCain should pick as a running mate.

TallDave-I dunno. Other than Paul, he was the most anti-war Republican running (more precisely, the least pro-war Republican, other than Paul, who was actively anti-war). If there's one thing that is anti-libertarian, it's being gung-ho about the Iraq war (like McCain is).

What the hell are you nitpickers talking about? Huckabee was easily the funniest candidate during the primaries. McCain should pick our darling Huckster pronto; Americans could certainly use a few occasional laughs in the hell (at least for libertarians) that's sure to follow the election.

As it happens, I do think that. However, I'm pretty sure "liberty" is not a condition you can reach while a foreign army patrols your streets.

It is disgraceful that you would get on here and talk so harshly of Governor Huckabee. A finer politician does not exist. The Fair Tax is going through. It is getting national attention and if you would educate yourselves on it you would agree it is the singlemost thing that will improve the economy. It is a longterm fix, not a bandaid for the economy problem....Senator McCain should be graveling at Huckabee's feet begging him on the ticket. There is no-one who can excite the party like Huckabee. Mike Huckabee would make a great VP- Americans really missed out on a great President in him, but sadly many people don't know how to think for themselves and instead just parrott whatever the media tells them.

It is common knowledge that Romney and his goons made hefty contributions to the Club for Growth to tarnish Mike Huckabee. Funny enough neither The Club for Growth nor conservative talk radio (Hannity, Rush,Ingraham etc) discussed Romney's poor business/economic record in Massachusetts. But then, when Romney's company Bain Capital was in the process of taking over Clear Channel (home of all the above) they weren't about to jeopardize their multi-million dollar radio contracts.
