Anti-Drug Propaganda Brings Us Together
Going through pictures of Burma last night, I found this picture I'd taken inside Rangoon's palatial Drug Elimination Museum. I guess the drooling fellow is supposed to be high. Turns out, the museum has a web site that includes photographs of its many life sized anti-drug dioramas.

Hey, it's John Walters!
I can't make out most of the label, but the first bit appears to tell us that this guy's name is "Bob." Is this the same Bob from earlier threads?
Is there any cultural or political significance to the white headband?
Somebody locked up the Karate Kid! And he appears to be starving! This looks like a job for...
*illuminates the Atomic Fruitbat signal*
Looks like a panel from "Tintin and the Blue Lotus".
I've arrived just in time! Now to retrieve the vial of thermite paste I always keep in my Atomic Fruitbelt... no, Mr. Macchio! Don't eat the thermite!

"Hey, Ted Turner says I'm the healthiest person he's ever seen! Stick THAT in your jail!"
The thugs in Myanmar don't even have to pay lip servive to civil liberties. Yet I'll bet dollars to donuts that they don't eliminate illegal drug use there either.

It is probably one thing they are doing right. The US could learn more about how to fight a real drug war from countries like Myanmar. We should execute anyone caught with even the smallest amount of any illegal substance.
Actually, a government that is willing to publicly whip and/or execute people caught with even a small amount of illicit drugs is a way to eliminate drug use. I'm pretty sure there are no potheads in Singapore. There are basically two options with drugs--legalize them or execute the users. Anything in between causes more problems than it solves. I, of course, support the former option.

Softie! You probably don't care about other people having sex for reasons other than procreation, either!
If I were in jail and starving to death, I'd probably wanna be on what that guy's on too!

Hi, troll. Is Free Republic down at the moment?
Unlike the American ads, I bet these would be less fun to look at while tripping.

Asharak, do you respond to the muttering bag ladies as well? 😉
I'm gonna give Steven the benefit of the doubt and say he was being sarcastic and forgot to add (sarcasm). I can't believe for the life of me anyone could advocate totalitarian policies being "something we could learn from".

Occasionally, but I'm generally nicer to them.
Yet another freaky website from Myanmar. Sometimes I think a rogue comet caused a rift in the space-time reality, and Myanmar is slowly being subsumed by a Bizarro-Dystopian continuum.
Rangoon's palatial Drug Elimination Museum.
She's not kidding. "The Museum was constructed at a total cost of over 820 million Kyats..." At 6 Kyats to the dollar, this is about $34 million. In a desparately poor country.
Here's hoping for a quick death to the junta.
ahhh, the infamous bob dobbs at it again.
6 kyat per dollar is the official rate, so meaningless. The street rate when I was there was something like 1000 kyat per dollar. No idea what it is these days.
...and my math was wrong anyway.
So they only spent $800,000 or so on the museum.
I'm sure we outdid them with ours.
Waiter! I'll have what he's having.
