No Converts

In Malaysia, the Kelantan state legislature, which is dominated by the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, has enacted new rules to prevent people from attempting to get Muslims to convert to other religions. Under the law, those convicted of preaching to Muslims face up to six lashes with a rattan cane, five years in prison and a $2,800 fine. Previously, the maximum penalty for trying to convert Muslims was two years in prison and a $1,400 fine.
