Better Than Prison: Life On A Scorched Sea Fort
Last time I checked, my second-favorite (*) illicit ocean-based proprietary community, the Principality of Sealand, had suffered a terrible fire and was up for sale. Nonetheless, it has allegedly offered asylum to Gary Mckinnon, the famous "NASA hacker." Or maybe it made the offer before the fire. Or maybe it's all bullshit. It certainly wouldn't be an effective way to avoid extradition to the U.S., given that no established state recognizes Sealand's sovereignty. We blog, you decide.
By the way: For those of you who were hoping The Pirate Bay would buy Sealand, I'm afraid the site's offer was rejected. Perhaps it could set up shop in Antigua instead.

It's a pity, but if Sealand were to do something that actually angered the British government (as opposed to being the minor pest they are now) we'd be seeing a mini-Falklands invasion. Hence, them turning down Pirate Bay buyout offer.
Maybe Roman Pulanski will buy it...
thank you very very n?ce thank you very very much....
Sealand suffered from a marketing problem from the start; it sounded too much like an amusement park with dolphin shows.
Sealand is a nation...
in the same way that Rue Paul is a female.
>>> Or maybe it's all bullshit.
Yes. That one.
