The European Commission is reportedly set to ban any products from mentioning non-metric measurements. By 2010, it will bar companies from using non-metric units such as inches, ounces or pounds in "advertising, labelling, catalogues, manuals and the like," according to Britain's Telegraph newspaper. That includes instances where both metric and non-metric measures are used. The ban will cover products imported into the European Union, as well as those made there.
