Playboy, eh? Congrats, Radley. You've made it as a writer.*

*For those unfamiliar with the publishing world: no, that isn't sarcasm. Having an article in Playboy is prestigious as hell.

  2. 76   19 years ago

Is this the one where that goofball boot-lick responded by calling you a rich snob?

  3. Kwix   19 years ago

There are articles??? How'd I miss this?

Seriously, good job Mr. Balko, glad they picked it up. Playboy lands on the desks of politicians every day thanks to "free subscriptions" they didn't ask for. Maybe while flipping through boobies they will see the photo of the armed SWAT team and pause a second to say WTF and read the article. Fantastic!

  4. Jake   19 years ago

    Congrats to Radley!

Sadly Kwix, I suspect it'll just give the politicos ANOTHER thing about which to stroke themselves .

Mmmm.. boobies... mmmm... step on the peons... mmmm... power....mmm

Well, I think technically he can get into the playboy mansion at least once.

    panty raids gone terrible right

  6. *   19 years ago

The bad news: out-of-control cops are ruining America and killing and terrorizing innocent people.

The good news: I now have a good reason to buy the next issue of Playboy. Sweet.

  7. Again   19 years ago

The worst thing about Playboy these days is that "I only read it for the articles" is a fully defensible position now.

  8. Paul   19 years ago

But Radley, I don't read Playboy for the articles...

  9. brian423   19 years ago

Well, I think technically he can get into the playboy mansion at least once.

Anyone with a few hundred dollars can do that.

  10. Baylen   19 years ago

The least you could do is have the link actually go to Playboy so we could get some surreptitious eye candy. Suitcase-skeleton guy (at right) isn't doing it for me. And where's carpet-humping man, btw?

  11. Mad Max   19 years ago

    "And where's carpet-humping man, btw?"

Ah, there's a sad story. You're familiar with the concept of rug burn? His case is going to be written up in *The Lancet.* Poor soul.

Thats interesting. So the fact that probably only a small percentage of subscribers read the articles doesn't reduce the prestige?

The good news: I now have a good reason to buy the next issue of Playboy. Sweet.

I think there is always a good reason to buy any issue of playboy you want.

  13. J Sub D   19 years ago

Yeah, I look at the photos. But I also read the articles/columns. Playboy is real jounnalism.
