Damn, FEMA wasn't even close to helping out here.

I guess George Bush doesn't care about white people either.

My God; this zoning bylaw is just a bunch of Chinese menus in a Trapper Keeper!

    Signs posted around the facility:

    "No Smoking
    No, really, NO SMOKING."

    What is that from?

"Rainbow Diner owner Freddy Huntsman said emergency personnel were eating enough that he was running low on chicken-fried steak and chicken fritters. But he was glad they could use some of his space."

    Yeah, we're in the South.

Authorities set up HQ at a GAS STATION? Good spot to be when the rain of fire and shrapnel starts floating out of the sky.

    Katrina II where are you?

VM: Keith Smart? you are a cruel, cruel pirate.

    SR,

It is an amalgamn of the cultural detritus that has branded itself on my psyche.

Which is an English major way of saying that I totally stole it, and don't remember from whom.

  11. Son of a!   19 years ago

Maybe this guy is to blame.

"Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb."

Jeff, I just wanted to let you know that at least one person caught this Batman reference. (Adam West era.) That line in the movie made me laugh out loud.

  13. Pro Libertate   19 years ago

Everyone, stop what you are doing and follow Son of a!'s link above. Reading the article is optional, but viewing the enlarged image with the following caption is not:

LaMere unleashes the Eye of Surr-Vey's power, violently rezoning a residential area into a landfill.

  14. Brian Doherty   19 years ago

I too am haunted by joe's joke reference---I'm feeling inclined somewhat in the Arrested Development direction, maybe?

  15. MUTT   19 years ago

So, Im watching the war history channel, as usual, & the show is about junkyards: ships, tanks, etc. This bit was about ICBM's. And Im thinking: Jeez, Ike was smart. These friggin things empty the Boobs wallets to build (cue: But the Russkis woulda murdered us in our beds! and I think: yeah? they get everyone blown up, WHO ARE THEY GONNA TAX??) Ive been thinkin this a while, you see. And I watch these umpty billion dolla things get junk yard stripped, & Im thinkin: well, friggin christcreeps, why cant I buy the grade 12 fasteners for my scoots (that be motorcycles to you yup types) surplus? But noooooo.
Talk about waste. Talk about a goddam racket. How goddam stupid are we "citizens", anyway, and are we even more gutless than stupid?

Me too. The only memorable gag in the movie.

C'mon Robert, you didn't like the giant rubber shark and the Bat-Shark Repellent? Heh!
