Because obviously a he-said-she-said "scandal" is a hell of a lot more important than things like, oh I don't know, unchecked spending and legislation in a congress that doesn't exactly follow a very strict interpretation of the constitution.

By fucking it up, you mean proving the allegations to be false? He was a piss-ant because he has knowledge and working relationships in the region?

He was a good and logical choice to go...I don't see how the fact that his wife mentioned to a superior that he might be a good candidate for the trip somehow inherently makes him tainted? Why exactly?

And it is not within Ms. Plame's authority to maket the decision who would go to Niger. She made a suggestion, and her superiors thought it was a good idea. Maybe you should save your ire for the actual decision makers instead of the employess who are doing their jobs.

This is, and should be news because a policital attack from the office of the President. They (and you) are trying to use innuendo to discredit his reporting. If you want to dispute facts, go ahead, but to pretend like somehow Wilson was inherently tainted because his wife suggeted him as being qualified for the trip (which he was) merely shows your argument to be nothing more than cheap attacks.

Rove didn't have anything to do with the leak. The leak occurred before Novak went to Rove, who merely confirmed what had already been leaked. What, you want Rove to lie to the press and deny that Ms. Plame worked for the CIA? Or would you prefer that he simply stonewall the press, when doing so is not required by law?

Mr. Plame was in no way the logical choice for this investigation (unless having a wife who's an analyst is a qualification for investigating black-market uranium sales) and in fact did a pretty crappy job of it.

What he did do there actually supported the administration's case, although he later lied about this.

I wondered about that too, until I realized they were reading the "Huffington Post" and not the "Washington Post", or watching "Countdown with Queef Olbermann" instead of "The News Hour w/Jim (growing ever more partisan by the day) Lehrer" (I can't wait until Ray takes the helm of the News Hour, he's great!).
