Muslims in the Malaysian state of Kelantan have been warned they can be fined or imprisoned if caught skipping Friday prayers. In fact, one man was recently fined by a sharia court for skipping prayers. State Local Government Committee chairman Takiyuddin Hassan says skipping prayers is illegal for Muslims across the nation, but enforcement in Kelantan is stronger.
