Via the libertarian proprietor of D.C.'s Fantom Comics comes an amusing Sesame Street/V for Vendetta mash-up parody, C for Cookie. Bonus points for recognizing that when we degenerate into a fascist police state, it will be the obesity nannies leading the charge.

Anyone who thinks that the Liberal PC police are a real threat to anyone is an idiot. It is fear of ______ (fill in the bank - terrorism, communism, arabs, mexicans, blacks, gays, pot smokers) that is the real threat to our liberties.

Jersey, it was the liberal PC Police that have lead the way on the smoking ban. In Europe, the PC Police have outlawed free speech so that not denying the Holocaust (although idiotic) is a crime. The Liberal PC Police have se up speech codes at our universities. The leftist PC Facist movement in the US is at the heart of the destruction of our liberties. Remember, liberties are usually chipped away at a little bit at time, not all at once. That is what the leff is doing.

Nothing better than opening a thread with a troll, right JMJ?

  4. Jeff P.   19 years ago

That brought a tear to my eye. And I had forgotten about Bert doing the Pidgeon dance.

    AC,
I don't think JMJ is trolling, I think he's a genuine "open minded" (read: closed minded) lefty.

  6. smalls   19 years ago

    JMJ,
I think the real truth (as usual) is that both the righties and the lefties will join forces in creating a larger government....using scare tactics from obesity to terrorism, and everything in-between.

My god, must everything be an excuse for some sort of jeremiad? It was a freaking joke. Relax, people!

  8. thoreau   19 years ago

Slate's William Saletan has a wonderful post today on how French fries are the new cigarettes, which I cannot recommend enough. His best line is "the one thing you can't do in a culture war is win it." Go there, today.

    JMJ can't. It's his idiom.

Or rather, Saletan had an article on the 15th of April...here: Junk-food Jihad
