I really hope we make real meaningful reform to our immigration policy (in a pro-immigrant kind of way). It would be the first serious measure taken to make the USA a better place, in a fundamental 'what it means to be an American' sort of way, in my lifetime.

This entire issue politically will be ancient history by November. Undoubtedly both sides were trying to use it to their advantage, but I think they fired their weapons too early.
