Kubby: Alive and Free (For Now)
Steve Kubby, the medical marijuana activist and former California LP gubernatorial candidate whose plight in prison I wrote about last month, is now in stable health (at least according to the AP report, though still with adrenal cancer and the web site his wife is running for him still complains of weight loss and some blood pressure problems) and out of jail (released after serving only a portion of his sentence because of an overcrowded Placer County jail). He still faces a hearing regarding his failure to appear in court at an earlier hearing, because he had fled to Canada. (See my original piece for details.)
