Public Television Panel in L.A.
A final reminder: I'll be on an American Cinema Foundation panel this weekend debating just why it is we even have taxpayer-financed television in this country.
Details -- Saturday, 8 p.m. at the American Film Institute, moderated by occasional Reason contributor Cathy Seipp; other panelists include The Hollywood Reporter's Ray Richmond and Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory director Mel Stuart. Admission is free, seating is limited, RSVPs are a must, and more information (including on the other panels) here.

Commercials are a lot less annoying than the "begging sessions" on PBS. Except the "Go to my PC" spots, which are bad enough to make me want to read.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is a movie?
What, C-Span isn't going to cover it?
