If You Attend One International Drug Policy Reform Conference This Year…

|

Reason is a proud cosponsor of the Drug Policy Alliance's annual International Drug Policy Reform Conference in Long Beach, California this November 10-12.

In explaining why he wanted to live in New York City, John Lennon–now rightly remembered as the untalented hanger-on husband of Yoko Ono–once said that if he was alive during the days of the Roman Empire, he would have wanted to live in Rome.

Which is exactly why if you are interested in drug policy–and ending the war on drugs–you should go to the DPA's conference. And, man, if you can't follow the logic of what I'm telling you, then you probably aren't interested in drugs or drug policy anyway so just forget it already.

Details are here.

NEXT: Gillespie on C-SPAN, Saturday, 9AM-10AM ET

  1. Wow. Does anyone else think it’d be fun to get high with Gillespie?

  2. If the drug culture was gathering in New York, I felt the pigs should be represented as well.

  3. Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to meeeee. Happy Birthday to me!!

And, Happy Birthday to you too, Ken Shultz! Forever and always joined at the birthday…. = )

  4. OK, that post helps me understand certain things much better.

  5. LOL!! Ok, ok. Well, Ken Shultz is one of your regular contributors… a proclaimed Libertarian. It’s his birthday on Sunday and mine today, so I was looking for him and came across the blog “Does anyone else think it’d be fun to get high with Gillespie?”

So, I was just reminiscing (since it’s my birthday today and his is on Sunday..) “of the good friends we’ve had and good friends we’ve lost … along the way. In this great future, you can’t forget your past… I remember when we used to sit… and then Ken would make the fire light as it was love wood burning all through the night. And then we would only cook porridge, of which I’ll share with you. You see…so I’ve got to push on through, but, while I’m gone, everything’s going to be alright.”

Hope everyone has a much fun today as I will!! J’ah Mon!

  6. Uh .. er … hmm.

It’s true! Once I took some drugs, it made plenty of sense.

  9. John Lennon–now rightly remembered as the untalented hanger-on husband of Yoko Ono

I find that declaration extremely offensive ? It implies Yoko has some talent.
