    Stalie? What a great name!

  2. Solyom   21 years ago

This would be comic if it weren't so tragic...

  3. Belarus   21 years ago

I'd just like to thank my Mommy Russia, and my Daddy Karl Marx, and most of all, my good old Uncle Joe. Thanks Unc, we couldn't have done half as well without you!

Thank you for this link. This gives me something specific and timely to cite when I say the UN is a farce and the U.S. should withdraw from it, and my friends look at me like I'm an idiot.

This would be comic if it weren't so tragic...

Remember, one award is a tragedy. A million awards is a statistic.

  6. Deus ex Machina   21 years ago

No, a tragedy is having David Letterman as the host.

Steveo, the UN is an arena of competition. We shouldn't withdraw; we should try to win.

So what's the deal with Freedom House? Are they the neoconservative answer to Amnesty International?

  8. Solyom   21 years ago

    SPD,

Excellent paraphrasing of Stalin's famous quote. I stand by my first comments.

  9. Slippery Pete   21 years ago

To our anarchist friends, I call your attention to page 67 of the report ("Trend Arrow").

  10. Eric the .5b   21 years ago

The UN is "an arena of competition"?

Some games are best not played.

  11. Don   21 years ago

. . . the UN is an arena of competition. We shouldn't withdraw; we should try to win.

And you voted for Kerry? To compete in the UN?

W competed in the UN; Kerry would have surrendered to it.
