Cornell University scientists have created this video simulation of how the December 26 tsunami spread across the Indian Ocean. Warning: it takes a while to download even with a broadband connection.

    Way cool

Instead of an MOV, shouldn't it have been a WAV file?

  3. Andy D   22 years ago

That is amazing. I watched it and paged through the individual frames... I wonder how accurate the simulation is.

I tried to go back after closing it, and it's not working for me anymore. Is it still working for other people?

Nothing loaded for me. Could be a FireFox issue, though.

Here is a lower res version that still works.

The news followed that up by saying that the scientists had tagged a 1 ft wave from the Tsunami to the beach at Atlantic City, NJ.

If nothing seems to load with the big file, that's probably ok. I have a good broadband connection and when I first went there, the page just sat there doing nothing for maybe 10 minutes... but it finally came up. Now when I go there, it gives me an error message.

I can't get it with either Firefox or IE. Maybe they've been "Hit and Runned" (a la Slashdot)...

The higher resol file doesn't load on my Firefox. The smaller one does, tho'.
