150,000 Strong
Just a quick post to note that Hit & Run recently received its 150,000th comment from readers like you.
From attaboys to howdareyous to whatthefucks--it's all in the glorious archives of H&R. And will remain there long after the age of humans has passed and the ants or Venusians or whoever takes over the planet.
Thanks for sharing.

The thought of H&R being archived is scarier than ants taking over the world.
For my money, Hit & Run does smart and funny better than any other blog. Add toh that it's electic field of view, and I [Heart] my H&R.
Wonder how many of those were censored? After having a comment disappear from H&R once I inquired at to the somewhat ironic practice of pulling posts on a Libertarian forum and was told (a) that it wasn't censorship because there were other comments that weren't pulled and (b) that truthfully it was pretty arbitrary (I think the actual phrase was "I don't put much thought into it"). I acknowledge that it is their bat and ball and they can pick whoever they want to be on the teams (I did so in the original inquiry) but I still haven't been able to wrap my head around the first piece of logic. It is certainly their right and not against the letter of the law (Libertarian-wise) but IMHO certainly against the spirit of free debate. I will admit that noticing some of the posts pulled (not mine but others, to eliminate the ego thing) it is certainly arbitrary, though.
Having said all that, the moderator did probably save me some embarrasment.
where's jean bart?
I heard he's in Vermont...
(teasing of course)
I, for one, welcome our ant overlords, but would like to distract them from the fact that libertarians are of no use whatsoever at getting slaves to work in their underground sugar mines.
The ants will impose a highly structured society wherein Ruthless XI will pine for anarchy while sitting comfortably in the house created by sugar mining profits. And what other blog has pithy observations on ant overlord, I ask? Long live H&R.
Comments pulled?
I've written some retarded things (in retrospect, at the time I thought they were wise and pithy) but I've never seen one of my posts get deleted.
H&R is the most interesting and engaging blog in the whole damn sphere!
Archived? All the stupid, not-funny, often-self-incriminating shit I've written here is archived?
I hope my underage drinking post got deleted, before a SWAT team swarms my house.
If the ants do take over, libertarians will be the first to be digested.
Hasn't Jean Bart been reborn as Jason Bourne? If not, it's a perfectly reasonable substitute.
Who is Jean Bart?
The staff at Reason/H&R are a bunch of sniveling Hamlets, consistently unable to utilize their God given testicles to emerge from their "independent" smokescreen.
Conservative...yet we think the GOP are scolds!!
Liberal...yet we profess a hatred of statism!!!
Reason's foreign policy articles and posts make Pat Buchanan look like Woodrow Wilson...not what we need when thousands of people are actively trying to melt us.
Reason's ideology has the intended effect of making them the Dallas Winstons of most policy debates. Kind of cool, rugged and tough, but can't get out of his own way.
Bednarik crying with his mom was, admittedly, genuine, but the libertarian party is no less than one galaxy away from ready for prime time.
That being said, I will always read Reason for the excellent coverage and opinions re: the abuse of law enforcement power, particularly the excellent series of Waco articles.
Someone wake me when the ant overlords arrive.
And of course, thoreau will be nominated for his first Nobel, not in physics, but instead in blogosphereics, for his establishment of the "JB-GG equivalence principle".
Hmmm...so what percent of that 150,000 is comment spam?...
Comment spam? Got's to be 50%.
But honestly, the Venusians had there shot and they blew it. May as well give the intergalactic ants a whack at it.
I have to leave you now. So long and thanks for all the fish!
