The Government Giveth and the Government Taketh Away

The Birmingham, England, City Council asked artist Tom Bloor to brighten up a local subway station. He spent an entire day covering the station with artwork. When he came back the next day to finish the project, he found city workers had removed almost everything he'd put up. And when he tried to explain he'd put it all up, they threatened to arrest him. The matter was eventually cleared up, and Bloor started all over again.
