I think this film was made in 2001—but somehow, it feels like campaign 2004.

This is based on a hilarious ICQ prank pulled by Something Awful. It’s at
    http://www.somethingawful.com/articles.php?a=287.

  2. isildur   21 years ago

My god, it’s like the walls between my bookmarks are breaking down. Will I see posts by Jesse to the SA Forums later today?

  3. Jesse Walker   21 years ago

OK, that’s two references to “the SA forums.” Someone please explain the reference to me — I can’t enjoy being mocked if I don’t get the joke.

  4. hilly   21 years ago

Sigh. Ok, first, you’re not being mocked.

Second, SA = Something Awful. The movie was based off an old ICQ prank by Richard “Lowtax” Kyanka, one of the guys that created and runs the site. A lot of the Something Awful material (like Comedy Goldmine and Photoshop Phriday) comes directly from the forum partcipants, called the SA Goons. Hence the PAK CHOOIE UMF.

Third, Goons have been banned from the SA forums for recycling old (like 2001 old) jokes. Banning isn’t all that serious, becuase you generally get un-banned after an arbitrary period of time.

Any other questions should be referred to the SA FAQ.

  5. hilly   21 years ago

Also, please keep in mind that SA is not for the kids or those prone to getting the vapors.

    SomethingAwful.com.
Little Green Footballs has had “do not trust the shover robot” on its title line for years now.

One of these days I should introduce you to B3ta and Fark. Ah, the Internet.

  7. Jesse Walker   21 years ago

OK, I know Something Awful. Just not well enough to know it by its nickname. My relationship with the site must be somewhat stilted and formal.

Don’t be afraid to mock. It’s what these threads are for.

  8. Bender   21 years ago

Those robots are wussies! They can kiss my shiny metal ass! I need a drink…

  9. Impostor!   21 years ago

    Bite your shiny metal ass!

  10. Mr. Nice Guy   21 years ago

During the upcoming convention they should spike the drinking water with LSD then show this video during the opening ceremony..

  11. zorel   21 years ago

all that is missing is a white colored “Liber Robot” appearing at the end to give us hope from the pusher & shover robots 🙂

    OT,

public school tries to kick out a student for wearing a T-shirt with “hempstead, NY” on it. yes, it is an ad for ‘hemp’, you see 🙂

Hit and Run is so banned from the SA forums now!

  13. andy   21 years ago

hahaha that reminds me of when my high school english teacher tried saying how it was inappropriate to wear “those four-two-oh shirts”

    I about died of laughter.

Screw the Swift Vets. I want to form a 527 and play that every day during The Daily Show.
