Don't Get MADD, Get Even
Reader Jeff Patterson points to a fantastic Chick-tract parody exploding the neoprohibitionist crusade against booze.

Doesn't look like a fine publication to me. I appreciate the info about Madd, but I'd rather not glean it from a poorly written article like this (a link from their FAQs). A sample:
'anyone who road a horse'
'but their working to fix it'
'monster had kicked it?s creator out'
'the GOA (General Accounting Office)'
'They adopted the Marxist maxim that the end always justified by the means.' (Did they mean Machiavellian?)
And lastly, this awkward construction: 'But somehow it is always the drinker?s fault. Sober drivers never get into accidents, so it?s gotta be the drinker?s fault, right?'
I'll get my info frum sumbuddy hoo ken rite wright, thanx.
Seriously, though...the top story of our campus newspaper today was "Binge drinking saturates college campuses".
Are we really heading into a new prohibition movement?
I bought the Blackout Brigade "I will not remember you." T-Shirt.
Thank you so much, that was AWESOME!
That was really funny, but such attempts at parody shouldn't incorporate real statistics into their arguments. It makes it too compelling for me to deconstruct the bad reasoning and apples-to-oranges comparisons they're making-- even when I agree with the overall argument... and when I do that with a parody comic, it makes me feel _really silly_.
Looks like that link is down. Darn! I love a good Chick parody. Last time we spoke of Jack Chick's impersonators he was engaging in a full out copyright assault. Perhaps moderndrunkardmagazine is the latest casualty.

I'm glad to be made aware of this fine publication.
That is the funniest thing I have seen in a while.
Hehehe that was every bit the giggle-fest I hoped it would be.
Thanks for pointing the way guys. Kinda embarrassed I couldn't figure it out for myself, but I'm a little hung-over. I'll feel better after I finish this Bloody Mary.
This is my 2nd favorite parody:

My favorite parody "Who will be eaten first" was taken down due to fucking assholes with no sense of humor. I thought fundamentalists were supposed to be fun.

I`ll drink to that!

Wow, now I know I've spent too much of my life reading Chick tracts: I identified it immediately as the one about evolution.
I didn't think much about MADD before this post. The tract spurred my enlightenment.
Here's a link Mr. "Happy Hour" might offer:

"Ass-kicking facts". Heh. I like that one.
I'm glad to be made aware of this fine publication.
Shill, it's worth subscribing, in my opinion.
My socioliberal boyfriend, who steadfastly refuses to visit this site, was nonetheless extremely impressed with the referral to the moderndrunkard site.
"I agree, that's why you'll be very proud of me that today I signed up for a subscription to a magazine that looks at both sides with an objective and critical eye, and preaches as well as practices a logical, reasoned approach to the issues facing our time: Modern Drunkard Magazine."
"Just look how non-violent and peaceful prohibition has made...The MIDDLE EAST!"
Fantastic!
"Oh, snap. No he didn't!"
Heheee!
