Tony Randall, RIP
America's beloved fussbudget dies in his sleep and all CNN has is a six-graf obit ready to go. Go to The Hollywood Reporter for a better retrospective. Break out that old vinyl copy of The Odd Couple Sings and drink a Brandy Alexander in Felix's memory.

Didn't he adopt a kid just a few years back... at like 80?
Thanks, Dad.
Y'know, JPic, you could have read some of the linked stories 🙂
"He is survived by his wife, Heather Harlan Randall, who made him a father for the first time at age 77, and their two children, 7-year-old Julia Laurette and 5-year-old Jefferson Salvini."
I just thought he would carry on forever.I've been watching "The Odd Couple" for over thirty years, and post every day to the Odd Couple Message Board. When the honchos at ABC wanted more "big names" for the show,he went out and got opera stars like Marilyn Horne,Richard Fredericks, and Martine Arroyo!Next to the Small Faces,my favourite band is Felix Unger and the Sophisticados.
With all due respect to Don Knotts, Tony Randall was the most entertaining heterosexual queen TV/movies ever produced. Rest easy, old man.
Anti-smoking zealot, as well.
Liberal, anti-smoking...but I loved him anyway. What a great actor.
We're so used to him, a lot of us forget he was one of our greatest comic actors. He was also a decent dramatic actor, but rarely got the chance to show it.
Check out the 1964 movie "7 Faces of Dr. Lao" with Tony Randall playing ALL of the circus character parts. It is wonderful.

With no disrespect for the dead, we all know that Richard Stahl carried The Odd Couple.
Dick Stahl is a demigod on the OC Message Board, and we recently voted "The Odd Monks" episode our all-time favourite.Stahl runs the monastery as "Brother Ralph"-"If you want anything at all--just abstain".
One of the best guests on late night talk shows, too. It seemed to me he was always funny on those things.
Laying it on a little thick, aren't we? My God, what will you say when Jack Klugman dies? (He isn't dead already, is he?)
