I'll admit it...this one got me until the second paragraph:

Today is my grandfather's birthday. And every year we remind him that it's also the feast of all fools.

He told us that he's 42.5 years old today...for the second time. Next year he'll be 43 years old...for the second time.

And yes, he tells that joke every year. And yes, we love him anyway!

Hoax #92 (the LA highway closing) got me thinking: It was recently announced that part of Boston's Central Artery will be closed for the duration of the Democratic Convention. (We already knew North Station will be closed, so people who normally take the train will have reason to drive in.) Can I hope that that's just a joke?

    FOOL
Thou canst tell why one's nose stands i'
    the middle on's face?

    KING LEAR
    No.

    FOOL
Why, to keep one's eyes of either side's nose; that what a man cannot smell out, he may spy into.

When I was in College for telecommunications in the early 80s the Pasta Harvest was taught as part of the ciriculum on the power of media.

    Today is my birthday
    the big Four Oh

I was born a fool and so I remain

    If only (sigh)...

  8. Tax Reform   22 years ago

Perhaps we should move tax day from April 15th to April 1st.

    It seems so appropriate...

    1. The government and the IRS are fools.
    2. Most tax returns are about as accurate as most April 1st press releases.
